It has just hit me who his voice reminds me of.

Like Swash he has a hint of Jamaican in his 'i' vowel sounds (ah'm not gonna lah) but Swash is more cockney.

I think it's his voice that might have triggered the aggressive side of him. He's probably been bullied about it since puberty and like many previously bullied people tends to overcompensate therefore his rant to Becky about not judging him on first impressions may well stem from this.

I agree with that - and I think his voice is the main reason for the chip on his shoulder too! It's quite sad really.
