Today the Virmin guy turned up to do some work on the street cab opposite, it turns out he was changing some cables in local cabs in preparation for the upgrade, as he pointed out, some of the cables are 15yrs old and need changing!
I wonder if they will be so keen to change our Co-Ax as it ages and degrades.

Don't know about the actual speed-doubling as I had already upgraded to the speed-doubled 100/5 some months ago by request.

I think I was in the April - July plan for 2012 (def no later than end of 2012). My upgrade date now pushed back to March 2013 and August 2013.

So pretty much a year delay and they have the damn audacity to open with a nice friendly, marketing department approved line of...

"Your speed upgrade is going to take a little longer"

What a complete p*ss take. They retained my custom this year from Sky and BT Infinity with this b*llsh*t.

I’m sadly absolutely furious !! They advertise all over the place that the non owner Richard Branson is hard at work. Yep on all the companies he actually owns and has interest in. For his personal credibility, he'd be better off refusing to work with such Virgin licenced branded companies.

A general point, I really don't know how companies can shout from the rooftops as to they are offering/doing this, get a decent campaign out of it and then get to quietly let millions of customers down!!!

A bit like being called a murderer on the from page of the Sun and then the apology is a two-liner on page 26 lol.

I have just noticed that my area is now to double by end of December 2012... then I checked the download speed and it has already doubled !!!!

So good news for RG12 / RG42 area I am guessing.

Croydon (well - my road anyway) is now showing 'Will be ready by end of December'.

Why does it keep changing all the time...?!! Seems every month, there is a new date...!!!

Depends on the work they are doing to get it ready - if they manage to bring it forward they will do

Quite - my area started as "end of July", changed to "September to November" (when many others also changed), then went to "end of September" (which they hit).

I see they are trialling new traffic management policies, I wonder if this is so they can roll out the double speed in areas without having to do any upgrades.

http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/...l/td-p/1520488

They say it is more generous but the feedback suggests otherwise.
