Hate to say it but.... the city looks tiny

I was thinking the same. Hopefully it scales up quite nicely though. Hope there's a lot stuff to do in the countryside!

The actual city size of Los Santos itself is just a bit bigger than GTA IV's Liberty City and Alderney combined, so think of the city as the GTA IV map, and the rest is all expanded from that.

I can't open that page at work! I want to look at it! I'll have to wait until I'm at home.

    It's getting closer and closer...

So, did you bag a review copy and know this for certain or are you just repeating what has already been said officially? :D

Yep, it's from the Brady Games Guide.

@mred2000: We don't get review copies, but we get other stuff.

I thought the city looked small as well but plenty of people are saying it's the same size, or slightly bigger, than Liberty City from GTA4. If true, that's pretty amazing. There looks to be smaller town-type settlements here and there as well, and I suspect there'll probably be other stuff in the woodland areas like cabins and the like.

I just love how varied the environment looks, though. I loved Liberty City but it was all urban and nothing else. The only area with anything resembling countryside was Central Park, and that wasn't that big. This, however, has cities/towns, woodland, forests presumably, sandy areas, mountains, etc. It looks incredible.

All the hype that was flying around about how big the map was going be and most of it's just empty space! :p

It's packed with a lot of stuff. I think it's the best of both worlds.. they've clearly got a very packed city and they've got lots of more open land but with little towns and such. I like the look of it. Can't wait to get a fast car and drive around the coast.

Open space was what GTA 4 was missing so I'm glad of all the space to actually go out and have space to stretch my rocket launcher.

If that scale between IV and V is accurate? I'm one happy little rambler, can't wait to explore the vast countryside, it's going to be epic. That being said I always prefer those areas in open world games, Cities are always a bit meh...

I'm presuming the red line it's the tram line and the purple one is the train tracks, be fun to drive a train round that.

Has anyone made a comparison of the San Andreas maps and this one? That would be worth a look.
