Music from iPod onto the computer

Yesterday I had to delete everything off my computer because of a computer virus. Luckily, all my coursework is on a memory stick, but all of my songs have been deleted. The only place I have them now is on my iPod. Is there a way to get them off my iPod and onto the computer? I can't just leave it because I've spent £30 on songs that I've downloaded. I'd really appreciate your help, and thanks in advance if you reply.

I tried to do that before on another computer and it didn't work
Okay thanks! Do you have a website for ipodrip, and how much does it cost?
heh i forgot that apple forced them to take the ipod bit out of their name so its now called irip. and as far as i can see its free too!

free trial....
Its annoying they make it SO difficult to remove files off the ipod...... they obviously don't want you to do it.
on other mp3 players Ive had you could just drag and drop between the two......
yes........ but theres normally a restriction......
you might be able to use it for 30 days
you might only be able to transfer xx amount of songs
etc
I just had to change the computer to show hidden folders and copy the stuff off my ipod to the computer. I think that should work
Oh I didn't know about that...Do you work for Apple, Appleseed? I'm a good girl, I didn't steal anything, honest!
i used that one when my PC died and i had to buy a new one.
there is nothing quite so nerve-wracking as knowing your whole music collection is stored on just the one device, the ipod
since then, i have bought an external hard-drive as a backup
Ugh, I know! I was nearly in tears! I was sitting for about 20 minutes before I decided to plug my ipod in and as soon as I did, I panicked and yanked it out straight away. I repeated this about 4 times
I also have another question now. After getting all my music back, it sounds a bit...bubbley. Like the sound an electric guitar makes when you have one of those pedal things. Do you think that's just my computer playing up, or has the quality of the music been destroyed a little bit?
Very unlikely!!!
It's probably something to do with your EQ settings in Itunes - Just make sure it's set to 'none' and hasn't got some funky full room reverb checked or something.
Been there, got the T-shirt, starred in the video etc.
Ah okay then The music is playing like normal now without me changing anything so I'll just leave it in case I mess it up again
I have a strange feeling that what I've done isn't going to work; I've done this without downloading anything or paying and it was simple enough, but why do people pay for stuff to get theirs back? Will the things they pay for do something that I haven't?

Thanks I wasn't actually the one who deleted everything off, it was my dad. He said that he couldn't even get on the virus stopper program and whatever he clicked, porn came up.
