From which I deduce you were able to receive BBC4HD previously from COM7?
My point was that people who were unable receive BBC4HD previously wouldn't see any such message.
They wouldn't see the message about it having been moved, but that is a good thing as for them it would not have moved.
What many would see when they tuned to SD BBC FOUR is the HD available message.
If I had been unaware that there was an HD version now available I would go to the SD version and on 3 out of 4 of the receivers I use up comes the HD available message.
There will be some receivers that don't display the message but I suspect that the biggest reason why some who don't see the message is that with so many messages coming up these days that we don't always notice them even when they are there right in front of us.
The second audio stream is now live on Channel 608 RB1 24/7.
The red button channel selector is now live, RB1 DTT is for 601 PSB1 and RB1 is for 608 COM8. RB0 is absent from the selector but BBC Parliament is still broadcasting.

RB0 appears to be sharing with CBeebies, so try it after CBeebies closes down for the night... erm, which is now.
Apologies if I missed it, but it appears that from the 1st August; BBC News, CBBC and Cbeebies changed to 544x576 on BBCA.
The COM8 streams are now also 704x576.

It's not surprising CBBC and CBeebies are 544x576 as they are sharing streams with RB1 and RB0!
Now that BBC Four HD is on the strongest mux, and can be received BT the most people, why can't it stay there?
Why would the BBC not want it to be seen by the highest amount of viewers?
Forgive my ignorance.
The BBC obviously thinks that CBBC is more important, and as in normal circumstances that runs until 9pm now, there's not much chance of BBC4-HD ever being permanent.

Imagine the delight of people when they realise they can now get BBC4-HD, only to have that turn to anger when it disappears again in a few weeks!
Got it here in Blackpool (Winter Hill?) about 3 weeks ago.Cant get mux's 31 or 39.Probably low-powered. Good news at the moment, but bad news for me if they move back.:(
so this is what my mate was complaining about yesterday in that channels was moved for the olympics, now he have to move them all back. I can understand why he was a bit annoyed.
I did not retune my PVR, but then I never knew anything had moved. Shows how much interest I take about TV.

You should be able to get coms 7&8 in Blackpool despite the fact they are at a lower power. However if you are on a communal aerial or have an old group C/D aerial you may have problems. Ask your neighbours if they can get them.

Thanks. You are correct, its a communal system,30 yrs old,and the aerial probably has never been updated.I cant ask all 53 of my neighbours, they probably dont know what BBC4HD is. ;-)
I can get 31 and 37 from Winter Hill on a "normal" day of weather. However, if ever there is a High on the weather map all the quality disappears, and therefore the channels. Moving into Autumn and Winter this shouldn't be an issue, but not good for those lovely warm days we occasionally get. I use a loft mounted UNIX 100. Are they wideband? I've had it since the start of On Digital.
I'm in Blackpool and BBC 4 HD disappeared for Thursday and Friday. On my Panasonic PVR it just went missing and on the Samsung it said BBC 4 HD has moved.
Can I manually add the channel using a samsung smart tv (f7000 2013 model) without a full retune?
In meridian / Southampton area
Did a retune just before the Olympics, re ordered all my channels and NOW have to retune again because they want to put bbc four back where it was originally? Seems very odd

On most Samsungs, in the Broadcasting section of the menu, look for manual scan. It usually brings up the channels you currently use and has a rescan button next to the number. Just rescan the relevant number.

Retuned this morning and it seems to be back.
After a rescan I thought it was back,as it showed it,but, after 7pm,it was empty.....:(

What's interesting is that the combined bitrate for video on these channels on BBC-A has gone UP since August 1.
Audio has been cut from 256kbps Stereo to 192kbps Joint on BBC One, for example, which helps explain where the extra capacity is coming from.

Or indeed CBeebiesHD.
Possibly because they plan to merge BBC4 with BBC2?
