  I did a couple of times (years ago) - getting landed with a couple of £50 bills soon cured me.

  I once went over by about £20 and ever since I've been on pay as you go. Contracts are a pain in the arse.

  I go over most months but I have a cap at ten pounds meaning in theory I can't go over by more than 10 pounds.
  
  However, they get you by not adding your extra stuff on for 72 hours so last week I discovered I had a bill of around 30 odd pounds because I was sending texts that I didn't know were contributing to go the extra allowance rather than to my text allowance.

  My partner always seems to be charged for going over his internet usage which is funny as according to his contract he has unlimited internet usage? CLEARLY NOT!!!

  We questioned them once about it and they said there is actually a limit on the unlimited data!
