Welcome, my lovely DS'rs. Welcome to another episode of EE and it really is good to see Sharon back on form. Thought she was amazing last night, putting Ronnie in her place. I'm looking forward to this feud between Ronnie/Sharon- I know there have been fan wars for ages (tbh I don't really know why:blush:) but both actors work well on screen. Elsewhere, poor Carol finally losing her hair. I still don't buy into the Carol/David romance (especially after the David/Nikki kiss) but great to see Lindsey's acting abilities put to good use. Ian being his usual bitchy self and nice reference to Lucy's pregnancy- I'm surprised though that Michelle's teenage pregnancy as Ian was generally supportive of her I think. Poor Ian though, I like how close he and Lucy are getting which will end in heartbreak.

And Tiff no longer considers chicken nuggets as part of her 5-a-day:D

So, that happened yesterday- what about tonight?

Synopsis
Ronnie brushes off Sharon's threats by making it clear that she doesn't care. Phil tries to keep both women happy, but Sharon won't listen and takes Dennis to stay at Ian's because she doesn't want him in Phil's house while Ronnie is there. Sharon decides to confide in Ian and even though she doesn't reveal the full story, he can sense that the situation is serious and advises Sharon to go to the police.

Later, Phil catches Ronnie hunting for the incriminating evidence against her. Roxy interrupts them and wants to know what's going on. However, they are all interrupted when Jay points out that a police car has pulled up outside…

Meanwhile, Cindy invites Liam round as she has the house to herself. When Ian makes an unexpected return, Liam makes a run for it and Ian puts two and two together. Ian heads straight off to the Butcher household where he declares that Liam has got Cindy pregnant.

Elsewhere, as Bianca and Sonia continue to feel relieved over the news, Carol and David return to the Square to tell the family the truth. However, it seems that the conversation will have to wait when Ian makes a scene over his suspicions.

IanMandy's Character Corner: Ian/Sharon

Some people may know that Ian and Sharon are my favourite characters and I am always going on about them sharing more scenes. Their friendship is so genuine and is filled with history- and shows that the close ties between the Beales and Wattses- as shown originally between Den/Angie and Pete/Kathy- is being brought over into the new generation. Ian and Sharon, alongside Michelle, were the original friendship group. Though Ian and Sharon drifted apart after Cindy cheated on ian with Sharon's then boyfriend Simon- and after the whole Sharongate incident- they eventually became close again. Though they rarely socialise, it's nice to know that they can rely on each other if they need a friend. It gives Sharon a firm link to the square (and she has been drifting about a lot since 2012) and makes Ian appear a bit more sympathetic and gives him a friend (other than the occasional scene with Alfie). So I'm really looking forward to their heart to heart and I would like them to remember their history a bit- they had a nice scene not long ago when Sharon reminded Ian of when they used to date and that was a mark of their strong friendship. I hope Sharon has a big involvement in this big story- and I think having both Ian Beale and Sharon Watts involved in the 30th anniversary episode would be very fitting.

That's it from me, I'm going to leave you with this Ian/Sharon scene from 1986 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1hJLREN07I)

Enjoy the ep, see you later!

I would be Team Sharon if I didn't find her annoying, so for that reason, neither.

    Love the title :D

I voted for Ronnie just because I like her more than Sharon but your poll is flawed as Ronnie did mean to kill Carl. I just don't care that she did.

Whatever happened to sisterhood? Sharon should be supporting Ronnie for getting rid of that pig.

Sharon hasn't been so great recently but I think having her moral opinion on the Ronnie situation- as Sharon always wanted to do what was right- is very in character

Sharon was never bothered that Dennis murdered Dalton. She only wants Ronnie out of the way incase she uncovers Sharon's plan to rip off Phil. That's the bottom line of all this.

Exactly. Sharon wants to destroy Phil, and if Phil's dangerous relative Ronnie is in the picture with her own agenda, it's another threat to Sharon's master plan.

I guess, I just saw the murder as an act of madness and that she wasn't in her right mind, bearing in mind he had just tried to rape her.

This, also she doesn't know that Carl attacked Ronnie just before she killed him. Dennis only killed Dalton because it was him or Dalton, as Dalton had sent Phil to kill Dennis. This lack of knowledge and Roxy's description makes her look like a psycho anyway. Being the overprotective parent that she is, Sharon's probably not keen on having a convicted child snatcher around either, even though Ronnie's done her time.

I hope Sharon gets Ian involved in ripping off Phil - she'll need somewhere to divert money and we would see more of their friendship. It would also make for very interesting viewing when Phil found out about the involvement.

Phil "I never have liked people ripping me off, I do things".

    Ronnie "Yeah, so do I."

That preview clip looks interesting between Phil and Ronnie. She took his money and she doesn't care, mind you Phil doesn't have a leg to stand on considering he and Shirley stole Roxy's money. I hope Ronnie finds out about that.

What money did Ronnie steal of Phil's? Whatever Mick gave in cash for the Vic?

It's in the preview clip on the BBC EastEnders site, he says "that was my money", I'm presuming he's talking about the money she used to buy the gym.

Ronnie is a complex and deeply troubled character but I am a big Sharon fan and Sharon is Den Watts daughter- she is not afraid of Ronnie.

Long term Ronnie will be gone from the Square before Sharon.

However I think Ronnie and Sharon in the Square at the same time is great for the viewer.

That preview clip is very interesting. Sharon is ripping off Phil. That much is obvious now so his words seem like foreshadowing to me.

I wonder if when the Mitchells find out what she is up to we are heading for a Who Pushed Sharon? perhaps it will be Sharon herself who is pushed over the edge of her new balcony. Putting her into a coma or something.... that balcony has been added in for a reason ;)

I don't think Ronnie is scared of Sharon either, in fact it seems right now she's scared of nothing, except perhaps losing her sister's affection.

Sharon better play her cards right in dealing with Ronnie, I don't think she will be her downfall (if it happens) to be honest. If Ronnie gets caught I hope she goes to prison, at least then there's a chance she could return in years to come.

Noooooooo, if that happens, which, the way Sharon has been written lately it probably will, I'll go and shove Phil off it myself!!

Edit, actually if Shaz and Ronnie both go over the balcony a la Alexis and Krystal in Dynasty, landing on Phil down below, I'd take that.

Chrissie wasn't much of a physical fighter though and Ronnie is much more unhinged and unpredictable it seems. In a fight Ronnie would annihilate Sharon.

If we're talking mentally though Sharon has much more of a chance as Ronnie is all over the place the moment.

I bet prison has changed all of that. I'd be terrified of Chrissie once she's done her time and descends on Walford for the 10th anniversary of Den's murder.:D
