That might have been a decent title sequence if it didn't have 30 seconds of inane egotistical crap at the start.
As someone else has said: a new low.
For a movie the main bulk of this would work incredibly well. The question is, would this sequence with it's overly long running-time and cinematic feel, actually sit well at the front of a weekly television show?
I think it would work as a one-shot (like the McGann movie's intro), but only in that context.
Lazy. Looks like he used parts of the 2005 and 2010 title sequences in that one.
I see what his game is
Make three different sequences each based around official sequences that have their own fan-base, merge them all into one, and then receive positive comments from all three sets of fans. He's trying a cheap trick to make his video get more positive comments and votes, and it's as clear as day.
I must confess I have sort of seen them (not very clear footage) and me like. Looking forward to seeing them properly a week Saturday. Oh yes. A week Saturday....:)
It's hard to tell the exact sound of it from the video that leaked, though it's the first thing about Series 8 I've not been sold on (I'll reserve judgement until seeing it properly of course). It just sounds a little too "cheesy 70's sci-fi" I think. Whilst there's a lot to thank Classic Who for, and elements of it that can be appreciated and carried over as well, some elements should remain in the past. I kind of thought the same about putting the Doctor's face in the opening credits - I prefer them to kind of be, I don't know, timeless?
Then again it's a big deal to make for about 30 seconds of actual screentime, and I don't think it's that important
Saw the new titles at the premiere and loved them.
It's great to see them experiment with the visuals a little, and I approve of the theme being more eery and less bombastic. Like the new Doctor and the show itself, they seem to evoke Classic Who but with a new creative flourish.
Well, it's a lesson that's been a long time a-coming for Xander. Self-promotion is imperative but you cannot take to it to the extreme where it becomes very counterproductive.

That is a new low for him...

I'm so, so glad another (modest) Youtuber got the credit

This rubbish can't possibly be the new titles, can it ?
Oh, no - please don't. Already seen DB.
More than Xander David-Hugh has seen.
They have - yes.
I'm starting a Tony Tiger / Ray Smith / Xander David-Hugh Appreciation Thread. Your uneering foresight is a gift to us all.
Phew, thanks for the clarification. Or;
No expletive deleted, Sherlock!

Oh well. I'm quite happy to wait!
Yeh, it was very blurry. I'm going to wait until 23rd to watch it properly with its full soundtrack. I don't think toastercam did it justice.

Hubris. We've all been there.
That was you? lol
I have been on his Facebook page today. First time too. He really is spitting the dummy out. Makes me wonder would that have put the BBC off him....?
Billy's work was taken on not because of the 'graphics' or the 'render', it was the concept. Innovative, interesting and different.
NV's work is stuff that's been done. Space, vortex's, spinny phone boxes. As I said, looks pretty but there's not really an original concept.
Plus being completely unprofessional about it all isn't exactly helping.
