Recommendations for tablet under £175?

Hi,
I'm planning to buy my first tablet. I don't want to spend more than £175 at most. I'd mostly use it for reading, films, apps and email (not into gaming). I keep looking at various tabs and then changing my mind.
I originally wanted a Kindle Fire but then realised that certain apps that I use on my iphone might not be available on it. I then switched to a Google Nexus until I read that it doesn't have a decent camera or use Flash. I was then thinking about an 8GB Samsung Galaxy, but when I read the reviews on johnlewis.com, I saw that most of the reviewers had bought it for their children to use (I'm 34!).
I'm now a bit stuck - what do other people use or recommend? Thanks.

For that money, get the nexus 7. I believe you might be able to put flash on it but I'm not sure why you would need to. Use the camera on your iPhone as table cameras are not very good
At that price another vote for the Nexus 7. Flash can be obtained and installed if you need to.
There are plenty of alternative ways of taking pictures on other devices but at this price you will find the Nexus hard to beat.
I went in for a Nexus 7 and came out with one of these. No Bluetooth or GPS though and the battery life is around 6 hours and the camera is shit so if thats a problem dont bother with it, however its got an SD Card slot, the screen is lovely and its made of aluminium.
The browser installs Flash on its first launch.
The Nexus is a good recommendation. But I wouldn't let the fact that John Lewis cutomers bought the 8gb Samsung for their kids put you off. I would think they are people with money (I would shop at John Lewis but they are a little expensive) who are happy to buy something decent for their kids
And support and updates directly from Google.
Now you are just sounding like a fanboy, people are allowed to have an opinion that is different yours you know and lets be honest that massive leap from 4.1 to 4.2.2 makes all the difference in the world mate, especially on a tablet.
Bluetooth on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 is flaky yet on my Sony Xperia S running ICS it works fine, the google support has worked wonders for that hasnt it.
Just out of interest have you owned both a Nexus 7 and an Archos 80 Titanium?
