Books where you end up looking at the same page for ages
Have you ever read a book that you found so interesting to read, you found a particular page that you ended up looking at for ages?
I remember reading some old books about our steelmaking industry's history, and found myself staring at the same few pages for a good while due to being transfixed at seeing all the molten steel and processes pictured.

Ernst Friedrich called "War Against War!" It had numerous pictures of the negative
effects of WWI (destroyed buildings, desecrated graveyards, dead soldiers,
etc.)
The most disturbing part of the book was the photos of severely injured soldiers
with parts of their faces missing. I remember staring at the pictures
of the poor soldiers for ages.
