Not so, my panasonic DVD recorder "remembers" where it is when you stop the disk. It "forgets" if you press stop again. But you can bookmark the location for instant access later if required.

Hardly the same thing if you have to remember to bookmark it. Cassette tapes remember where they are if you put them on the shelf. A few DVD recorders can do this as well I believe.

In the next software version, "list" on the remote brings this list up. So much easier. And I believe you can select the order you play the recorded programmes!

This might not be the case (see: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=475063 for a short list of new features).

It might be work in progress at Humax... I don't think there should be anyone who would object to this (as, when watching TV, the OK button brings up this list anyway.)

You can select a set of recordings to play at one sitting, and you can order this playlist in chronologically ascending, descending or alphabetically (from the programme title).

EDIT: I see marcdavis said in this post: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=11169641&postcount=18 that the list button does this... maybe it is in this 'finnish' version only... I will ask... Marc?

Yes it is. Looks like the engineers are planning to do some thing with this as they've put the playlist in the menu off the List button but its not active in test software. Maybe they wont activate it for some reason but I can see there is at least some intention of looking into this.

    Thanks for that info.

However, I think people are expecting the exact function (or action) of the button under the flap that give you the LIST OF RECORDINGS to be transfered to the LIST button...

i.e. one press of the LIST button gives you access to the list of recorded programmes allowing you to do all those nice things they've added... (along with original intention being able to play a recording quickly).

would be nice if it was a direct replacement but cant see that happening. They should have done that at the beginning to be honest.
