there is if you're a psychiatrist. Mentally ill equals not the patients fault. Mentally disordered aka personality disordered is often seen as untreatable and the person seen as acting out, when in reality they often have as little control over their actions as someone with bi polar or schizophrenia. Also mentally disordered people quite often have a mental illness alongside their disorder.
It's essentially someone who's ways of thinking and comprehending has been skewed in childhood and it affects how they react to stressful events. He probably thinks only in the now.
I agree with this. Very true. A personality 'disorder' as it's termed is basically someone with an extreme personality in some way and that's simply the way they are, nature and nurture being the cause. It's not pleasant viewing but these people are a messed up and thats the way it is. They can talk cogently and behave normally/obediently most of the time but inside their heads is probably a whirlwind of shite. I dont pity them, I just dont judge them without first understanding.

Being honest I thought the above post read as though the poster was intolerant of attempts to specifically define different types of mental health issue .......now that she has explained the reason why she 'hates' it ( i.e because it is discriminatory in terms of the care that sufferers get) I totally understand and apologise for my scathing reply which would always be reserved for people who are not prepared to look beyond the surface of what their TV is serving up and not people who care about the issue like Yorkiegal obviously does.
