there is if you're a psychiatrist. Mentally ill equals not the patients fault. Mentally disordered aka personality disordered is often seen as untreatable and the person seen as acting out, when in reality they often have as little control over their actions as someone with bi polar or schizophrenia. Also mentally disordered people quite often have a mental illness alongside their disorder.
It's essentially someone who's ways of thinking and comprehending has been skewed in childhood and it affects how they react to stressful events. He probably thinks only in the now.

I agree with this. Very true. A personality 'disorder' as it's termed is basically someone with an extreme personality in some way and that's simply the way they are, nature and nurture being the cause. It's not pleasant viewing but these people are a messed up and thats the way it is. They can talk cogently and behave normally/obediently most of the time but inside their heads is probably a whirlwind of shite. I dont pity them, I just dont judge them without first understanding.

Couldn't we pay the Russian government to take a few of them in their penal system.
I am sure they will take good care of them and possibly cure them.

A dad at 14. How sad that he can talk there about wanting to be a good father, yet cant make the association between that and his behaviour of the other day.

This black kid has narrow views... having a child when being a child... "cos you might die, innit".

    Pathetic.

I think a lot of it is a bluff. Trying to appear hard in front of the cameras so as not to lose face.

I'd be very surprised if the prisoners have been allowed to watch this tonight.

given Caspian's threats of rape and desire to kill, the conception must have been a frightening experience

    What's that then?

I hope that having kids gives some of these lads an incentive to do the time, keep their noses clean, get out and learn to be a father.

Not that it did for my cousin, sadly. But maybe there's hope for some of them.

grr i hate when they try to seperate mentally ill and mentally disordered.

Being honest I thought the above post read as though the poster was intolerant of attempts to specifically define different types of mental health issue .......now that she has explained the reason why she 'hates' it ( i.e because it is discriminatory in terms of the care that sufferers get) I totally understand and apologise for my scathing reply which would always be reserved for people who are not prepared to look beyond the surface of what their TV is serving up and not people who care about the issue like Yorkiegal obviously does.
