The Radio 2 daily schedule is dire. I tuned into Evans' breakfast show and it was pure s***.

And isn't it about time Ken Bruce was moved on? I don't know why they're still paying him to do a live daily show. It hasn't changed for 20 years. They could put on a one broadcast in 2003 and no-one would tell the difference.

Jeremy Vine is also stale. He's been in that job about 15 years. He used to be the new kid on the block. Now he's just a boring middle-aged dinosaur.

And Steve Wright? He's like Bruce. All his shows sound the same too. Very old hat. Zzzzzz...

Absolutely, maybe in the 'morning zoo' format, get a few young dolly birds to be his 'girls' the Return of the Hairy Cornflake! :)

I've been driving around a lot this week so have heard alot of Radio 2 during the day for the first time in ages. I have to say, I don't see a lot wrong with what is on offer.

Ken Bruce is entertaining and plays a good selection of songs. Not so keen on Jeremy Vine, but that's more to do with not being keen on his voice than the content. Steve Wright produces a good entertaining show. A nice mix of music, plenty of classic tracks I haven't heard on the radio for ages, and some good guest and chatter. Not keen on Richard Bacon who has been on drivetime covering for Simon Mayo, but I hear his show everyday normally anyway.

You do realise how distasteful that is, given the circumstances?

Ah, another month, another fantasy schedule time. Key thing is that they need to save money and that they need to get ready for the next generation whilst keeping the old guard happy. Here's my version:
    Weekdays
    5-7 Vanessa Feltz
    7-10 Chris Evans
    10-12 Zoe Ball
    12-2 Jeremy Vine
    2-4 Jo Whiley
    4-7 Simon Mayo
7-9 Sounds of the 60s, 70s,80s and 90s (Brian Matthew, or Tony Blackburn once he retires, Johnnie Walker, Sara Cox and perhaps Chris Moyles); Friday Night is Music Night
9-10 Specialist series, eg: Jools Holland, Leo Green, David Rodigan, Desmond Carrigton etc
10-1 Trevor Nelson, Jamie Cullum, Mark Radcliffe, Bob Harris, The Arts Show (with Lauren Laverne instead)
    1-2 Archive documentaries
    2-5 Alex Lester

    Weekends
5-7 Janice Long, simulcast on 6 Music
7-10 Sara Cox / Clare Balding
    10-1 Ken Bruce
    1-4 Steve.Wright
4-7 Pick of the Pops with Mark Goodier
7-9 Paul Gambaccini / Michael Ball
9-10 Craig Charles / The Sunday Hour
10-1 A Rock Show (maybe Steve Lamacq) / Clare Teal
    1-2 Archive
2-5 Chris Hawkins, simulcast on 6 music

    Perhaps in your opinion.

But thankfully Digital Spy isn't a real court of law.

Though I enjoy Simon Mayo, Richard Bacon was to me better than Lisa Tarbuck who was hosting last time I tunes in when Simon was off.

Also though many here seem to move her in Fantasy schedules Jo Whiley at 8pm is better than the drivel on Heart.
