Resistance: Fall of Man no longer working online?

Can somebody tell me if Resistance: Fall of Man no longer works online? My Brother just purchased a PS3 and a copy of R:FOM but we're unable to connect. It's not my connection that's the problem as I've just been online with Farcry3. I was thinking that maybe it no longer works as it's an old game. Help please.

I suspect brcause it was a launch game the servers are no longer up and running.
