I agree, even RE teachers are being soo vile.

Why do people in authority do this, sex with a 14 - 16 year old surely can't be that amazing! Obviously there are worse cases were an sexual affair happens... always seems to be in the papers nowadays!

I can't understand it, myself... I'd be loath to go out with any guy under about 20, never mind want to have sex with someone still at high school

You know "sexting" isn't actually sex, right?

    "even" RE teachers?
is it some unwritten law that people who teach RE are more trustworthy than others?
thinking like that is historically very dangerous if so!

I don't get why it's more "hypocritical" for a "religious studies" teacher than any other type of teacher. Maybe if it was "Life Skills". RE should be about teaching religion without bias or preaching.

I suppose it's because people expect RE teachers who *teachcoughpreach* about morality to have an increased sense of morality themselves..

It doesn't seem to work for priests, congregation etc - why would it work for RE teachers.

My RE mistress was a crippled midget who had her desk built up on three large wooden steps so she could see the pupils. Silly cow banned me from RE in the 2nd year because I refused to believe her stupid fairy stories and kept posing questions that she couldn't answer.

it does, only they don't think other people's morality applies to them and they follow their own "higher" moral code
    which is usually ****ed up

Am I unusual in having an RE teacher who taught the religions of the world from an objective point of view?

My sister in law is an RE teacher. She had an affair with her head of department as he "got inside her head" but he looks like Norris Cole and nobody can see why. It was 2007 but my brother hasn't got over it yet and she is still working with the guy. He cannot stand it as she won't look for another job and still socialises with them all. It does his head in.

People on here always mention RE teachers as preaching and telling fairy stories, I thought they were simply teachers who educated pupils about various religions, not tried to convert them? Mine certainly never did anything but tell us "these are some things that some people believe and rituals/rules they follow".
