Mcintyre and Eddie Izzard are pretty much mirth free zones.

I like to watch QI with Steven Fry but they keep having Ross Noble on the programme. He completely takes over to the point nobody else can get a word in.

Jo Brand. Seems that 98% of her jokes seem to revolve around how fat and ugly she finds herself and how crap men are (including her husband).

Agree with this, not sure if theres any truth in what she says but she seems to have been doing that schtick for 20 years

Russell Howard (really really just can't see it)
Andi Osho (should be a presenter - which she is good at - rather than a comedian which she most definitely isn't good at)
Ross Noble (hate the way he has that look of thinking he is funny - which he is most definitely not)
Russell Kane - another one who thinks he's the funniest man on the planet with an arrogance to match. So dam not funny its funny......

Oh god, does that mean Sarah Millican will do the same?

I hate Stewart Francis. I prefer drawn out comedy anyway, but I just can't get into his one liners when they dont have a consistent 'story'. E.g. one minute he's got a girlfriend, next a wife, next kids, next none of them. I just don't find it funny if it's not 'true'.

While there's quite a few I wouldn't cross the road to see, I recognise that they satisfy others comedic needs. But what's the point of Dom Joly? I mean, really??

Paul Merton. And it really grates that he tries not to laugh at other people's jokes.

To be honest I'm starting to go off all comedians, personally I feel they've reached saturation point on TV, I'm bored seeing the same old faces week in week out.

I know he's been successful for some time now but I find Boris Johnson's panto-style buffoonery not funny in the least. A tousled haircut and a perplexed gaze at the audience and that's it - they're raptured in laughter.

He's the first one that sprung to my mind.

I reach for the remote as soon as he appears on TV. I can see how he would appeal to infants, but I'd have to wonder about the mentality of any adult who thought he was funny.

Keith Lemon comes out with the occasional gem, but he is more annoying than entertaining, so I give his shows a miss.

Lenny Henry? Jeez, he hasn't said anything funny for more than 30 years!

    all very true. +

Miranda (picked up the fat, clumsy bird baton first used by Bridget Jones and now carried on by Brand and Millican. Women love 'em tho. 'Ooh look! That's just like me, that is!')
Lee Mack (used to be a bit 'edgy' till he discovered the middle-class sitcom paid better)
    Daira O'Whatshisname (The 'O' stands for over-exposed)
    John Bishop (see Lee Mack)
Billy Connolly (good 25 years ago, hasn't changed his act since)
Peter Kay (good-ish 5 years ago hasn't etc. etc.)

Frankie Boyle - to call him a comedian is probably a breach of the Trades Description Act
