They could kill the character off but if they do, it probably wouldn't be in the first season though.

Yea they posted a teaser poster saying he was "no joke" also if you listen to the way he speaks once he turns bad he is taking the mannerisms right out of the Heath Ledger joker book 101. The way he emphasises his words as he says "SheJust Kept Pushing". Then the head tilt and the laugh, pull up another window and it's very similar to Ledgers, you'd think it was. No denying it as far as I'm concerned. Read that we are a good 7/8 years away from seeing "The Joker" though but it will explore his background and they have freedom for it as there is little on that subject.
a few of us where talking about this in work today and i said he's got heaths joker down to a tee, the only thing that was missing was his licking of the lips.

I think it was a mistake to bring in so many known batman villains into the show (there's an original opinion for you haha) it becomes a Easter egg hunt, and that's not necessarily a bad thing if its spread out and subtle but the way they have thrown so many in at once distracts from the actual drama of the show.

It would of been better if they created new villain's for the audience to be entertained by, and just have Falcone and the penguin as they do fit in with the show and timeline, where introducing cat and two face etc just doesn't seem right.

I agree, it seriously needed something new.

I see Morena Baccarin has been cast as the female lead in the Deadpool movie.

Starts shooting next month. I wonder if it will affect her Thompkins character?

    Hopefully not!

Ugh. This means I'll have to break my "never watch anything with Ryan Reynolds in it rule", as it's outweighed by the presence of Morena Baccarin...

I actually like it so far.
Tonight's episode looks good based on the promos:

Solid episode, a nice take on the whole Red Hood gang even if the opening sequence was clearly apeing The Dark Knight a little too much there.

Now I wonder who could possibly take on that mantle in the future, hmm?

Learning more about Alfred's past is never a bad thing but Reggie stabbing him and working for Wayne Enterprises wasn't actually that shocking though it leaves Bruce at a disadvantage.

Selina and Ivy's scenes with Barbara are interesting enough. I like that Selina can see through Barbara's BS though.

Some good Gordon/Bullock moments but I did miss seeing Leslie, Essen and Nygma and are we ever going to see Montoya and Allen ever again?

Fish gouging out her own eye was not something I needed to see. That was some hardcore stuff there.

The Oswald/Butch plot was a bit meh though. Oh and look, another crap comedian on the stage, lol, 7/10

Herbert West in Gotham, wow. I'm a massive fan of the Re-Animator films and that blew me sideways. Really need to have him back always.

Gotham is easily my favourite show anyway, this just peaked it.

Oh and Theatre of Hate "Propaganda" added to the weirdness.

Quite the gory episode this week with Fish and the shootouts and then Alfred scenes.
I did feel a little calm over it all though knowing what we have in the future, kinda takes away from the suspense.

Anyone get a creepy vibe from Barbara as if she was coming on to Selina?

Her comments did seem strangely inappropriate.

I hate Barbara anyway. Her character is awful and has zero purpose on the show now.

I've seen this mentioned a few places. I didn't get the vibe as such but I did think it was inappropriate for her to be giving both Selina and Ivy that sort of advice on using their looks as a weapon though.

It reminded me of Miss Havisham in GREAT EXPECTATIONS. :D

Selena saw through ot because she thinks she's still got a chance with Bruce.

So that's at least Three possible Jokers now.

    The Comedian in Ep1
    The Kid from the Carnival
The Kid who picked up the Red Hood.

    Any others?

5USA are currently re-airing the first 10 episodes every Friday at midnight (this week is Episode 8) so I'm guessing it will be back on Channel 5 on March 16th. They've begun advertising it so it shouldn't be too long more.

This is old news but has anyone heard any updates about it?

    Spoilered for the browser challenged:
Gotham to introduce Mr Freeze: 'The science needs to be real'
Batman villain Mr Freeze will appear on Gotham, executive producer Danny Cannon has confirmed.

Cannon - who also directed the pilot - previously revealed his desire to incorporate the comic character into the new Fox TV series.

Confirming plans to introduce the character, the former CSI exec told Digital Spy at Comic-Con International in San Diego that he plans to reinvent Freeze's origins.

"Without giving too much away - because I'm not allowed to - the great thing about working on a CSI procedural show for so long was we worked with so many experts - specialists in each field," he explained. "There's a lot of things I picked up along the way.

"My first conversation with [showrunner] Bruno Heller about the villains in this show is always that they need to be very credible and relatable and the science behind them needs to be real.

"So I had a couple of stories that I'd held onto - real, true stories - and one of them just related to Mr Freeze. I know a real way to create an origin story."

Real name Victor Fries, Mr Freeze was first introduced to comics in 1959. The character was the chief antagonist in 1997 film Batman & Robin - portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The character also made three appearances in the '60s Batman television series - played first by George Sanders and later by Otto Preminger and Eli Wallach.

Batman villains confirmed to appear in Gotham include the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Catwoman (Camren Bicondova), the Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) and Poison Ivy (Clare Foley).

Gotham will launch on Fox this fall, airing on Monday nights at 8/7c. The series is yet to be acquired by a UK broadcaster.

A pretty solid episode and a little better than last week's too.

Fish's rise into Dulmacher's management was pretty swift but I knew that somehow she was also marooned on an island as well. I don't think they can keep her there forever. She has to get back to Gotham at some point, right?

Gordon and Dent were out of their depth trying to stop Loeb. Of course Gordon would then get better results when he ended up working with Bullock and Oswald as well.

I liked learning a bit more about Loeb and Miriam was certainly an intriguing character as well. Gordon playing dirty to stop Flass from getting to the top was an interesting move as well.

Nygma should give up on Kringle and soon. Tom seemed nice but I see something horrible happening to him, courtesy of Nygma as well.

Nice that Alfred is still alive and I liked the Bruce/Selina scenes as well.

Can't wait for the final four episodes, 7/10

Good epsiode. I really am enjoying this now. The opening few episodes really had me doubting the show and at one point contemplating giving up on it but this is good viewing now. Enjoyed seeing Jim play dirty and the scenes with the Doctor and Fish were good.

I had assumed she was on an island too so didn't really get why that was a big reveal. I did find the 'new' eye bit a little 'oooo'. I still don't get quite how Fish is so powerful. For some reason people just seem to want to do her bidding and I don't understand quite why nobody has just gone 'shut up' and killed her yet.

It seems completely unbelievable that this crazy Doctor who takes limbs from the stack of people he has locked up in his basement and switches people's body parts for his amusement would find her anything more than an annoyance. I've no idea why the guards who went down didn't just shoot her dead there and then. Instead they listened to her and went back to their boss with her demands. Yes I realise it's a fantasy show but that's just bizarre.

I'm not remotely interested in Fish's storyline, but still, better to have scenes with her than waste time on Barbara.
