Hi

I used to listen to Ray years ago on Piccadilly Radio but since then he seems to have disappeared?

Saw a poster today for manchester online radio advertising him.

I have a public house and somebody in the pub said he had been in jail?

Anybody got any info?

I used to listen to him and Dave Ward a long long time ago (who remembers UTBC -a no prize for the first person to tell me what it stands for) !

Dave

UTBC can only mean 'Under The Bed Clothes' (the Piccadilly late-show)?

Dave Ward then went on to do 'The B-Team' at breakfast, if my memory serves me correctly.

    Ken.

    Toastbusters !

(I preferred the flashing on his late show though)

I remember Ray Teret from Signal Radio when it first opened. Anyone remember "Lullaby of broadway" on his Sunday show ?

There certainly was an Ugly Ray Terret on Caroline North in the 60s but can this be the same person?

He also had 'boutique' around 66/67 on the quayside in Douglas, Isle of Man. Became a bit of a local character too, well loved by the bank and his suppliers I'm told!!!

I remember him as Ugly Ray Terret on Caroline North. The station advertised photos of the DJs available from your local Caroline record shop " that's the one with the Caroline bell the window".
When I checked it out, there was indeed a photo of Ugly Ray Terret on sale complete with stick on fake hairy warts attached to his face !
Didn't his sister get married to Mick Ludzit on board Caroline North?

Beat me to it - I was going to say the same. I found his photo in the Caroline record shop in Wrexham, complete with stick - on warts !
I have a recording of one of his Midnight Surf Parties on Caroline North and it was a really great show.It has a lengthy feature on the newly released Dusty Springfield album. Great radio.

Since writing the above I've found Ray Teret's name appearing in about 5 threads on this page, some of them are resurrected from a couple of years ago.
    What is occurring ?

On Caroline North, Ray used to take the 'P' out of the ads!
Ad: "Pop out and buy one now!"
    Ray: "OK I'll do that....splash!":D

His comments were so popuklar advertisers were queuing up to have their commercials on his show.

Has Ray Teret made any comment on the recent Savile allegations - as he was so close to him for many years?

Only thing I remember Terret for, is him taking over from Gary Crowley on a couple of TV shows late 70's/early 80's.
