I usually love xmas and get right into it.
pressies , tree , decs but this year I am like F it and my mum is feeling that way too and some people I speak to feel the same.
I dunno if it was all that snow that put people off from last week and more snow due this week , I think it makes people not wanting to go out and puts people off doing owt.
:D

The decorations aren't even up yet (normally early December) although I have done my Christmas shopping.
Yeah, that's the same with me. I got some pressies but the decs n that ain't up yet and they are normally up beginning of december:eek:
When I finish work on 21st I am sure I'll be feeling it more!
Merry Christmas all the same.
But then i'm not 15 any more I guess
My dad died at the end of November, and although I have said goodbye to him, had the funeral and am wrapping up all of his affairs (finance, house, car etc) I just can't seem to lift my mood above mediocre.
I have literally done nothing towards Christmas so far, shopping etc. I just can't get in the mood.
It's not 'bah humbug' to avoid it.
Quite sensible actually.
Same here.
I never really *feel it*. Cant even be bothered to put up my decs but I spose I will at some point.
I'm all a bit lethargic about the whole thing to be honest.
I haven't enjoyed it for so long simply because you get the horrible rush of angry people during the season who want everything 'their way' and are determined to get it, even if they annoy or anger you in the process.
Also, most retail peeps see it for a very high amount of the time in the year. Specifically applying to places that still manually price everything, like my old work place used to. You unpack it, check it all off, check it all off again on some other needless paperwork and then price each and every single ****ing bauble until you either lose your hands from endless clicking of those price guns, to dying of boredom. Early July to the end of January every year...
And then depending on how much of a dick your boss is being that year, you might have to put up with listening to Christmas music from the end of September or the beginning of October. Nothing puts you quite in the mood like hearing Bing cocking Crosby belt out white christmas for the ten billionth time.
Maybe I'll enjoy it again in another few years, but I'm sure as hell going to detox as much as possible. I'll do the family thing, which I do enjoy. You get to stuff your face full of bird and play games and drink wine and such.
Although me mam insists on listening to the Queen every single year.
Bugger that for a laugh.
The speech, not the Queen.
Although that might be a laugh.
I also got put off xmas by working in retail. A couple of years at a childrens nursery got it back, but then I had to return to retail. Eurgh!
But those are happy people enthused and overcome by the 'christmas spirit'. They can't be wrong
When I'm in my local Sainsburys I pity the staff subjected to that horrible loop of crap songs. I made that observation to one of the staff last year and she gave me a 'kill me now' look.
Now if the Queen were shown being buggered at 15.00 on 25 December I might actually watch....;)
Just can't be bothered with it at all this year and will be glad when it's all over. If i'd have had my way i would've gone away and just let it all pass us by:(
Hmm...
However, I did feel xmassy this morning when my 3 year old leapt into the bedroom declaring it was time to put the Xmas tree up.
