Normally that doesnt make a difference. they normally still do an episode regardless of how long one of them was.

Tuesday's episode was Tuesday and Thursday put together. Thursday's episode was today's (Friday) episode.

Normally, they don't. An hour long episode is usually put on when the normal episode isn't going to be shown on a particular night.

I thought it was because of a live event, but now I see it's a normal schedule for Friday with Room101 and everything. That's rather odd.

I'd read on here it was because of Harry Potter and the hour long Emmerdale on Tuesday, but the only EE night HP was on was yesterday, so they clashed anyway, and the hour long Emmerdale on Tuesday started at 7 so only required them to move the show back half an hour to avoid it, so there doesn't seem to be a reason, it just isn't.

I thought that it was that the BBC only discovered at relatively short notice that there was an hour long Emmerdale that would clash with Lucy's funeral episode of EastEnders. So essentially it was a rejig of that week's schedule to avoid the clash, viz:

EastEnders: Moved from Tuesday 7:30pm to Tuesday 8pm
Holby City: Moved from Tuesday 8pm to Thursday 8pm
EastEnders: Moved from Thursday 7:30pm to Tuesday 8:30pm
Food Inspectors: Moved from Thursday 8pm to Friday 8pm
EastEnders: Moved from Friday 8pm to Thursday 7:30pm
"Other Programme": Moved from Friday 8:30pm to Tuesday 7:30pm

I know it's a bit involved but there was probably no other way of doing it without even more disruption to the schedules.

That's when they make an episode an hour by creation. It's like an extra half an hour of Eastenders in a week.

Tuesdays was Tues/Thurs episodes together. If they put an episode on tonight, it would be Monday's and knock the schedule off. Especially if they reference it being a Monday/start of a new week. :D

I believe they put Thursdays ep with Tuesdays due to Lucys funeral and they wanted it to have more of a impact this way. They then showed Fridays ep on Thursday.
