can you reheat a home delivery pizza?

Say you only ate half the night before. What happens if you try? Does it work or does it shrivel up? And can you do it in it's original box?

Yes you can. (Take it out of the box)

In a microwave it'll go soggy.
In an oven it will crisp up more.
Either method I spinkle a little water over.

Remember, you're just reheating it. No need to cook the hell out of it.

Personally these days I prefer leftover pizza cold.

BIB is important to remember for all pastry.

I usually do mine in foil in the oven for lunch next day. Start it off totally wrapped so the steam softens everything up a little as it heats through, then open the foil to let it crisp a little Takes about 15 minutes on 200 degrees and is the best way I've found.

Though if you're not terribly fussy I've never had huge bother with a 30-45 seconds blast in the microwave for a slice or two if I go for it when I wake up :D Doesn't go anything like as soggy as bread usually does (no idea why, but it doesn't in my experience!), but can go a little rubbery.

I like all the ideas how reheat it, except it's a fair bit of hassle. I just ate it cold in the end. I just wondered if you could just chuck the pizza still in it's box, in the oven on low heat for 20 mins. But cold pizza is nice. :)

Always do mine in the microwave as find the oven dries it out too much. Half the time i have it next day when it's not even been in the fridge overnight, i'm still here.

Do you seriously think that putting cardboard in the oven would be a good idea?!!! :o:o

Plenty of people get travel sick, so they avoid breakfast in the morning. I don't eat anything until lunchtime.

I think that I would go completely insane if I skipped my breakfast, even just the once!

I used to put mine in the micro - mine also has a grill - but now I can't be bothered and always eat it cold.

I made one the other day, bought a plain pizza base, added my own bits, grilled, lovely!

Our local takeaway (not Dominoes or Pizza Hut) does 2 for 1 on Pizza, so we usually buy 2 large ones and there's plenty left for leftovers the next day!

If it's been left out, and there is meat in the topping, you need to be careful.

Otherwise, it's probably a question of texture and chewiness.

Why would you want to leave it in the box?

If you don't have a tray, just put directly onto the oven shelf.

I quite like cold pizza, and as long as it's not meat and not been left out all night, I'd eat it cold.

Never bothered me. I leave it in the box on the counter over night and it's always been fine.
