Pay a tidy sum to Lana Del Rey to write a stellar few songs, get Jade Ewen on the phone and get her to sing them all in a national selection show.

    If not, then...

    Hurts
    Marina & the Diamonds
    Leona Lewis

Don't suggest Leona Lewis, the BBC might mishear you and get Huey Lewis instead.

Quite honestly I'm more interested in the quality of the song than who is singing it. I'd rather see a complete unknown a la Jade Ewen singing a cracking song than something sub-standard sung by a well-known artist, just for the sake of having a famous name....

There are loads of good options as singers. I think next year I'd prefer an act that isn't a ballad act. (and please not the Sugababes in any form)

I don't mind who we get as long as they're not 60+ and show we've made an effort :(

Nina Nesbit, it would be quite an original entry probably.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she offered her song The Flood for Eurovision 2010. We all remember, or not, who they chose instead

Having watched Ana on the Semis, I'd say Scissor Sisters. They would be perfect. She seemed to really 'get it' plus they are amazing live.

I'm not saying they should necessarily camp it up with a Filthy/Gorgeous throwback either. Something like 'Fire With Fire' or 'Nightlife' would be amazing.

I posted last year that they should ask Marina & the diamonds, I think she has a perfect sound for eurovision

I really liked the Kimberley Walsh/Amelia Lily rumours floating around this year. With a Frederik Kempe/Xenomania track behind them, I'd be happy with either of those entering.

I'd be up for that. At least with Amelia Lily, you know you can rely on her vocally.

I think the best bet is to think outside the box. Not your usual pop singer. Maybe someone with a specific sound or voice.

What about someone like Bat For Lashes, Clare Maguire or even Birdy?

It's not so much who, important though that is, it's more the song. The songs we've entered in recent years just haven't been good enough.
