Who's saying the show is in a state 'because of the colour of the Thames'? I haven't seen anybody suggest so, or that that should be the producers' number one priority. Simply that they preferred one title sequence to another - where's the problem in that?
The entire thread is suggesting the titles are updated so as to no longer associate the show with Newman or Kirkwood.
I was suggesting the theme music/titles are the least of their worries when it comes to removing their stamp on the show.
The theme and titles are the only things that allow people to recognise it's the same show from years ago, everything else is up crap creek.

The OP simply asked whether people thought it was likely that DTC might change the titles to disassociate the show from the last few years of work. Most of the other posts are a discussion of personal preference in regards to what they would like to see in the title sequence.

And I didn't see many people suggesting otherwise - certainly not those who mentioned the colour of the Thames, on which you condescendingly remarked. People are allowed to discuss their trivial preferences about the show without implying that it's a primary cause for it's decline which requires immediate action.
