The Wanted think they're like The Beatles

They might have taken the US by storm, a rarity for a British boy band, but it would appear that The Wanted's Stateside success has also given them delusions of grandeur.
Because according to the five lads, they - along with One Direction - are just like the Beatles!
Member Tom Parker has compared the scenes they face of screaming girls when they arrive in the US to those witnessed during the Fab Fours heyday which was known as 'Beatlemania'.
Speaking to Bang Showbiz, he said: "It's Beatlemania for both boy bands, really. The whole boy band thing has really come back. Us and One Direction have gone over to America and are literally just tearing it apart. The whole boy band thing is really alive and it's good that it's two British acts doing it.''
And when asked if they could team up with any other boy band from any era, he chose the Beatles and added: "If I could bring [the late] John Lennon back, that would be the dream.''
He also thinks that the band's down-to-earth attitude has helped them crack the tough American charts and said: "People in Britain liked the fact that we were very real... We were very 'say what we want' and we wanted to produce the music that we wanted to do.
"And we took it to America and people really liked it. Every radio station was like, 'It's a breath of fresh air to us, we've not seen this realism for so long'."

It's hilarious how The Wanted think they're massive in America. They've only had one hit and their album flopped in America. Lol I can't believe they actually think they are experiencing Beatlemania in America

They aren't comparable to 1D at all. They had one top 10 hit on the Hot 100, but their EP had low sales there. They aren't in a position to be acting the way they do.
I don't really like either band at all really, but The Wanted will end up ruining it for themselves with the attitude they have adopted.
I don't think any boyband can possibly lord it up over another... or boast about the success when talent is naff all to do with it.
But musically those two groups are both as bad as each other. No-one will remember their songs in 5 years time
Lol That made me laugh.
My how their tune has changed from saying they were better than 1D and they were all about the music whereas 1D were for kiddies they now saying they (and 1D) are on the same level as the beatles :D
Doesn't their management give them media training? Isn't this the same band that are always dissing someone? Christina and Britney spring to mind . So not a good look
Considering how iconic the beatles became and the way the press and the public seems to love to misunderstand what celebs are saying, it's better to stay away from those comparisons.
It doesn't mean that their music is like the Beatles. When the Beatles were popular that they were screamed at they were still singing She Loves You and Please Please Me - three minute pop ditties.
oh i see why IFY flopped it was imo awful
And I realize they mean Beatlemania (hordes old screaming girls chasing them), but I don't think The Wanted really experienced that either. And I find it laughable and pathetic that they actually think they cracked America - only Glad You Came was sort of a hit, their album practically flopped.
I recall them performing on one - possible 2? - day time shows and with all the driving I do back and forth from Canada and America, I haven't once heard their song on the radio - while 1D was everywhere. The only reason a majority of people know of them here is because Lindsey Lohan followed them around for those 4 days and it was all over the media. Personally I think they need to send her a card of thanks for that. They were all over the news for about a week. And let's be honest, that;s about as good as it's going to get for them over here.
2 boybands who are basically puppets on a string can't compare to that.
The Wanted are more relevant than The Beatles, I really hope you are kidding. I'm not a fan of them, but I know they are the legends and that they are relevant because they changed the music.
I don't think anyone will remember The Wanted music in 10 years time while EVERYONE knows the Beatles
The fact that these two ""bands"" have even been mentioned in the same sentence with The Beatles is a total insult.... and I'm not a Beatles fan but please??
I mean, in the UK they aren't even second to One Direction. That'd be JLS.
I don't like any of these boybands, but it's very obvious that the only ones who are genuinely experiencing "mania" here and Stateside are One Direction.
The Wanted are one hit wonders and I don't recall any of the members being particularly popular celebrities.
