Just a heads up, a fantastic movie on tonight on one of the main 5 TV channels.

If you haven't seen this classic yet, you are in for a proper treat. If you have but haven't seen it for awhile, you'll still enjoy it..

Why do you think it's a classic OP?

I watched it for the first time yesterday and well...it was an experience. The first hour is boring and for the rest of the running time, it gets closer and closer to becoming a spoof. I did like the female lead character and think she would have been good in a more serious film with a better plot.

    Neither of the above.

It's an okay action film. Some cool bits, some poor bits, etc. I can take it or leave it.

I happened to see this on opening night in New York - the cinema was absolutely rammed, the crowd went totally wild for it, and I was convinced it was going to be a massive hit, but it just fizzled out into a middling non-hit... I still rate it though!

I think it starts of well; picks up when Samuel L Jackson and Brian Cox turn up, and but it all gets a bit overblown at the end. Some great dialogue.

"Why do you carry your gun in your pocket?"
"Don't want to keep it in my belt and blow my damn dick off."
    "What, now you're a sharpshooter?"

A good fun movie. Geena Davis is believable as a bad ass and Samuel L Jackson is as reliably great as always.

Amongst all the suspensions of disbelief required in the film, the assassination attempt at the train station is the worst. All those dead by-standers and witnesses. How the hell did they explain that one?

I love this film, at the same time I know it's a load of tripe.

Apparently it's one of Samuel L Jackson's favourite films of his own too!

    Don't understand why Channel 5 broadcast a 4:3 version. It's almost 2015... Seriously....!

Couldn't watch it and enjoy it.

If it's not in HD and 16:9 I won't bother.
So that's channel 5 out then.
    An enjoyable film nevertheless.

On Freeview HD we have Channel 4 in HD and also Channel 4+1 in HD.
    Pretty pathetic really.

Channel 5 is in SD and Film 4 in SD. >:(
