What all that giving up alcohol, lowering caffeine intake, nausea and sickness, blood tests, etc?
Then the birth and a baby to care for while you recover? Erm, No

Or busting their arse 24/7 to put food on the table and keep a roof over the head without having to sit & moan about it everyday.

Do you mean the man who was born a woman? Was in the papers a couple years ago?

Usually a pregnant woman will be working throughout her pregnancy too and if she's a SAHM there are no finishing hours to clock off. Such a typical male response.

As I have no desire to become a father (or rather a mother in this case), the answer for me is a resounding no.

Mind you, if I did, it would give the finger to the "men would never cope with pregnancy and childbirth" stereotype. ;)

Simple question. I would but probably only once.

You ladies are so strong and brave

Well if they could get pregnant and give birth then they'd have to wouldn't they? or take precautions to prevent such a thing happening.

Hubby claims he would take the burden off me if he could - but is glad that he doesn't have to :D

To be honest though I am perfectly content to sit with my swollen ankles up whilst he does the hoovering

Given the pain threshold of most men we'd all be single child families.

If we could have kids - our bodies would have evolved mechanisms to deal with it. Its a bit too simplistic to assume we would have exactly the same physiology that we do now - just with the ability to bear children.

My husband suffered with a really nasty bit of constipation after taking medication for swine flu (he'll love me telling you that!) and said to me... "If giving birth is half as bad as that I'm glad I don't have to do it".... Half as bad? :D I had to remind him that he didn't need stitches after his uncomfortable poo.

In theory I have experienced child birth already.

I have endured pain said to be worse than child birth (torsion of the testicles) plus I have had poo's so big they have split my arse.

So my answer would be yes, although I would want a caesarean please.

I think a lot of men would give birth if they could, it would ensure that their bloodline would continue and there'd be no doubts about paternity. I wouldn't have minded my OH sharing the burden of childbirth, as long as I still got to breastfeed the baby though ;)
