    That cost £1m? :eek:

    EastEnders needs a lot of work. The event episodes don't get event ratings. It's wallpaper. BBC bosses should have stepped in sooner.

    In fairness neither did ED big episode get event ratings. So it's not just EE. Plus there's hasn't been that many event episodes of EE at the moment.

    I wonder how a rpt of Death in Paradise will rate today, i'm thinking about 2.4million, LLF 5.4million inc+1.

    I think DIP will do a bit better then that as it was a great series. It won't beat LLF because for some reason that seems a bit of a beast at the moment. Don't think it will rate that highly though maybe around 5mil.

    Its share was telling though 37% would equal 8million+ in Autumn/Winter, possibly 9million. An excellent share for Emmerdale its not often its gets shares that high.

    In the article, it says that it will most likely premiere in Spring 2014 * in a prime time slot *. So, I assume its on ITV (1) still.

    Great news, really enjoying it, and hopefully now it won't have the terrible (much used) ending of the book.
    Considering how poor the series has been so far...

    if they did us the ending from the book I don't think it would make much of a difference..

    People seem to be watching it now because its "so bad its good"..

    Just look at the Under the Dome IMDB page..not alot of positive talking going on at all

    One description of The Mill that I read was that it succeeded in telling a story that The Village failed to do. Ripper Street got better as it went on but how it was up for Best Drama at The BAFTAs I do not know.

    Ripper Street definately deserved it IMO - in the top 3 best dramas this year for me. Have to say I was just as disinterested in The Mill as I was with The Village - both seriously dull.

    Sunday 28th July 2013
    Channel 4
    20:00 - The Mill: 2.46m (10.3%) / 2.80m (11.8%)
    * best drama launch for Channel 4 since 2010
    * peak: 3m (13%) at 20:15

    21:00 - The Returned: 927k (4.1%) / 1.04m (4.8%)
    * series average: 1.17m (5.2%)
    What was the 2010 drama?

    Good rating for The Mill, but Sunday 8pm is not where they should be focusing their attentions with drama. Southcliffe does look just as depressing next week, but it is from the makers of the excellent Red Riding so probably worth a look.

    How is 1.2m "not bad"?
    How is 9.45pm on a Saturday a "poor timeslot"?

    That wasnt for the big episode though that was for the aftermath which is even stranger. Still you could say all shares as they are for all soaps would still get decent ratings if it was the winter etc. So you can't really use that excuse.

    Fantastic officials for LLF 5.98million (inc+1 6.23million) super rating for it, I imagine thats it highest ever?

    One of the best factual shows on TV. Long Lost Family has earned this success.

    Yes but two soaps in particular would have high ratings for their most recent shares they are getting now i.e over 9million, a healthy rating for Winter. However one soap (you know which) has a much lower share than it has before and therefore would average in the 7's in Winter which would look low for that time of year.

    Each series, every year it has grown. It was a masterstroke to put it on Monday.

    Yes i agree but the ED share was only really high for one episode the rest of the time it rates around 34-35% sometimes lower. The same goes for EE.

    Thing is with Saturday night is that where is the tradition of family entertainment in the country, I expect it to get good amount of ratings. If I had a choice I would pick BBC4 or BBC2 but would not expect families to watch that channel as the content is for adults. Also here is the ITV News website, Sometimes like another one other then BBC News and Sky News: http://www.itv.com/news

    Out if interest, why not :confused:

    Surely they just need to be slotting their expensive drama efforts where they can get the biggest numbers? Yes - serving times where other channels don't venture is laudable, but the channel just needs big hits right now.
