Coronation Street - Characters just forgotten...

I was thinking about Coronation Street and there are so many characters that are forgotten and dissappeared without a trace like they don't exist anymore...
Eg
Gail's dad Ted
Len WIndass
Minnie (worked at kebab shop, Amber's friend)
Michelle's Real Son
Shaun's Son (what was the point in the facebook storyline??)
Hayley's Son
I'm sure there's loads more...

Exactly - pointless return!
He's only been off screen for two weeks, during which some pretty major stuff has been happening: have some patience!
Again, he was only mentioned 2-3 weeks ago when Liz went to visit him: by that logic you'd be expecting every ex-character to be mentioned at least once a month - it would just be one big roll call, no room for storylines!
I agree on Ted, Minnie and Len though, no explanation given at all that I recall; and that shouldn't really happen
Jake Webster. Kevin seems to have forgotten that Jack Dobbs isn't his first son.
Amber - surely she would have come back considering what has happened to the shop!
Cousin Tom (Liam's cousin) just dropped off the face of the earth.
Rosie's boyfriend Saj. Made me laugh this because his girlfriend got kidnapped by Stape, but he never called round to find out where she was and in fact he never got mentioned again.:D:D
Just looked him up on google and the actor that played Saj went on to play Ash Roy in Hollyoaks!

And wouldn't he want his son now Ashley is dead?
