Hey guys,
I'm looking for a new camera, I was previously using a Lumix FS30
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=lumix+dmc-fs30&client=safari&rls=en&biw=1240&bih=617&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=7VkgVLT_BpGVarDHgaAH&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg
But it doesn't turn on anymore, and the quality isn't as good as when I first got it 4 years ago.
I'm not very good with DSLR camera's, I could learn though as long as it isn't a really complicated process. It's just for day to day photography, I have an A Level in the subject so I've a vague idea on what I'm doing. Main stuff would be stuff like macro shots, close up nature shots, just various things really.
I wouldn't be using it much at night, so an amazing "night mode" isn't important or anything like that.
Budget is around £200. I don't really mind if it's not a brand new up to date model, as long as it's a good camera. There'll always be better ones being brought out whenever I buy it! If anyone can recommend me something, that would be great!

I'd stick with a Panasonic Lumix. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Panasonic-LUMIX-DMC-FZ200-12-1-MP-Digital-Camera-Black-/291248577057
Compact cameras are so much more convenient than carting around SLRs and camera bags etc.
And if they do Macro shots, which is the only non day-to-day requirement you have, why not?
I bought a Canon Powershot A810 2 yrs ago and still very happy with it.
16Mpix, 5x zoom, Macro, Vid+sound.
2 x AA batteries, I didn't want dedicated batt pack.
You are never far from a 24 hour garage if you need extra AAs!
It was rrp at £75'ish mostly but I didn't hurry buying it and then Argos dropped the price to £49.99 (almost exactly 2 yrs ago), so I bought it. (SD card, case/pouch not included)
I did a lot of research first on all models of compacts, and this ticked all the boxes for me.
Mainly Price/performance/simplicity, although I am technically minded.

I don't see why you need to spend up to £200 unless your needs change.
I've got a semi-pro Canon DSLR and I also have a compact Canon for times when I don't want to, or can't take the DSLR with me.
