Not much coverage, but some great performances. My heart went out to Maxim Trankov for being able to put down that performance 4 days after the death of his father.

I enjoyed the performances too, although I do get bored with Voloszhar and Trankov, it's all too samey, I like a bit of innovation, something different and why I prefer Robin and Aliona.
It was sad for Maxim but I do wonder why he bothered, I mean it is only the Europeans, they could have missed it.
Ironically I preferred Robin & Aliona's short although I could see Maxim & Tatiana's was more difficult but preferred Maxim & Tatiana's long (although I thought the marks would have been closer). I don't know why it is but have a mental block about "Bolero" for some reason (even a jazzed up version) lol I do appreciate that Robin & Aliona were trying to do something different but I prefer their more lyrical flowing programmes, which are just as ground breaking in their own way.
Hats off to Maxim though - not sure they will be in the gala as I assume he will fly back for the funeral after this.
I have also been keeping tabs on on US nationals & will be interesting to compare scores particularly in the men's (despite late withdrawals of Lysacek & Weir through injury) & ladies programmes (there's a lot of buzz this year around Ashley Wagner as a top Worlds contender). Obviously, Charlie & Meryl will beat anything posted at Europeans especially now Pechalat & Bourzat have withdrawn & they do not have competitive pairs over in US.
I've just complained to the BBC about the lack of coverage. They don't even list the results on the BBC website, which I would have thought they could do as a bare minimum. Doubt it will make any difference but if you don't complain they don't know. Thank goodness for Youtube!
Pleased to see that according to Robin's twitter they will be covering the world championships:
Robin Cousins @TheRobinCousins
“@LucyLerp: @TheRobinCousins will you be covering the Europeans from Zagreb this year Robin?” No but BBC will be in Canada for World Champs
Delighted that Volosozhar and Trankov won - love them!

That's great news Hoping that we have Red Button too but maybe that's too much to ask this time
Addendum (just added)
Here's British couple - Stacey Kemp & David King's performance in the Pairs last night (it was not shown on Eurosport)
Adelina Sotnikova http://youtu.be/oyxHQJX66u
Carolina Kostner http://youtu.be/FvTqYYU59Ow
Valentina Marchei (still waiting for YT - will update if & when I can)
Elizaveta Tutamysheva http://youtu.be/qkoo8uBmgfo
Joshi Helgesson (still waiting for YT - will update if & when I can)
Viktoria Helgesson (still waiting for YT - will update if & when I can)
I can see why Maxim and Tatiana edged it but the best duel of the night was the one between the Italian and French pairs - gutted for the French duo that they clearly left everything on the ice but were just too far behind for a medal
Looking forward to the ice dance this evening on Eurosport!

I was surprised the Italians beat them in the Free skate - I assumed the Italians would be behind them in that but probably have enough in hand to still win the medal. Both Robin/Aliona & Maxim/Tatiana were not in top form - understandable for Maxim & I think the injuries thay have had perhaps explain why the Germans are not in top form as well.

Good news that we are getting some coverage of the Worlds on the BBC.
I agree as well - I don't see why they can't post the results & a report on the website (am sure they can get something from one of the agencies).
Tapping my fingers ... trying not to go on twitter until after 8pm lol At least we will see the top skaters as its taped not live (or that's the theory anyway).
In the meantime, to tide you over here's a young lad called Vincent Zhou who just won US Junior Men's Title at 12yrs 3mths old!!!
US Juvenile Boys (don't ask me the difference between Junior & Juvenile except that its Junior Men, which is directly below Senior in age & higher I think) champion - Maxim Naumov, age 11, is the son of Vadim Naumov & Evgenia Shishkova, 1994 World pairs champs, who also coach him #blastfromthepast
Thought we were going to miss this skater in the Ladies as Eurosport was running late but luckily they added her on the end. I thought she was fabulous & gave Carolina a run for her money! http://youtu.be/_pf8vpNa2Ck
Just finished watching the Men's competition - definitely a highlight for me (perhaps the fact that we saw the top 6 performances uninterrupted helped)! Much higher quality than I expected was for Brian Joubert but Javier Fernandez was in a league of his own
Hoping for much better coverage of the Worlds in March from London, Ontario in Canada but thought would leave you with some of the highlights from US nationals, which has been taking place @ the same time as European Champs
Finally, Yuka Kawaguti & Alexander Smirnov are replacing Tatiana & Maxim in the Gala today as they have returned to Russia for his Dad's funeral. Interestingly, they are going to skate to "Cats" which was supposed to be their original SP.

Thanks mandy, wasn't it a shambles, 25 minutes with 10 minutes spend on adverts and scoring.
Still what we did see was pretty good and thanks for putting up the winners dance as we didn't get to see it, unbelievable.
and the Russian No.2, well I thought that was fantastic. They are the future of ice-dance for me.

Yes, loved Penny and Nick and Nelli and Alexander.
I also love I/K and I thought their free dance was fantastic, it had everything including innovation which I like to see.
