Madonna is planning a huge Live Aidstyle charity concert in Malawi which will be shown on TV around the world.
The 52-year-old Material Girl singer has called in favours from showbiz friends including U2 frontman Bono to perform at the Walk Out of Poverty gig in September.
A source at her Raising Malawi charity said last night: “Plans are in place to make this the biggest fund-raiser the world has ever seen.”
More than 60,000 fans will get free tickets for the concert at a stadium in Blantyre, poverty-stricken Malawi’s largest city, but TV rights and merchandising will rake in millions.
The source added: “Madonna is throwing everything into it. She knows the bigger the event the more money will be raised.”

As the article mentions the TV rights and merchandise will bring in a lot of cash for Madonna. I bet she takes a portion of this and doesn't give it all to good causes.

I hope she doesn't turn into Bono, the guy who moans that the world is not doing enough for poor countries but happily sits at the top of the earnings ladder and lives in a huge house and has property in other countries.

Don't like the sound of this project one bit.
Africa's corrupt dictators and governments are the real villans.

i think this is a big venture and support her causes as they are genuine, she asked fans on her website to place donations towards her charity which then totaled to $5,000,000 and then she put her own donation to match that of the fans donation total.

The Malawi project is a very personal charity for her and it means a real big deal, i say congrats to her for what she is doing and may she continue and by no means will she turn into Bono in that degree, she's a very strong minded person and will fight for the cause for sure!

To anyone doubting her reasons for this - do your research. Shes been actively involved in regenerating Malawi for years now and has pumped millions into funding schools, farming communities and healthcare. She has always donated a huge amount of money to charity though sadly this gets ignored in favour of ripping her apart.

Madonna's charity Raising Malawi says that no such concert will be happening :(

Aside from this, I think it is truly sad that opening this post I was expecting to see lots of positivity but instead people have to bitch and assume the worst when someone tries to do something good.

I think people find it hard to believe that Madonna actually does have a heart.
