Why do people pronounce this in such a weird way?

The same applies when they refer to migraine as 'meegraine'.

10 years working in a chemist has proven to me that the majority of people say "para-settamol".

    Meegraine is rare though!

Parra - SETTAMOL, is how I say it.

Bloody ordinary. I know there's a new way, but it's the same damned ordinary pill, and it's not a new fashion or anything.

So how do you expect people to say it then?

It's obviously meant to be pronounced as "para-settamoll" despite the word being "paracetamol".

My physio used to refer to what I'd pronounce pill-a-tees as pile-ah-tees (an exercise workout similar to yoga and tai chi), which made me cringe a little bit for some reason but I guess different people say things differently? I didn't say anything to her about it.
