Can't believe another Who-ie has died in such a short space of time.
I met her at a convention in the 90's and she was one of the nicer people I met that day. She was fascinated by how far people had come just to get there and was more interested in us than talking about Doctor Who, which I thought was quite nice.
Very sad news.
I too had met her at a convention many years ago and she was a lovely woman, very kind and patient and more than happy to talk about the old days.
Sleep well Caroline.
Lovely lovely woman, my favourite companion and a terrific actress. Not a single moment where I didnt believe her portrayal of Liz, unlike some actors.
Weird how deaths like this really hit you hard. Just like Nick, just like Barry, just like Liz Sladen I felt oddly a bit empty inside. Going to have a little Season 7 marathon in her honour.
Such an underrated companion, and a lovely women aswell. I never meet her in person but she was the first person who ever replied to one of my fan letters, and she seemed thrilled that someone who wasn't even born until decades after her time in the show was watching her 40 years after she left.
The Doctor, The Brig, Liz and Sarah all gone, someone please chain Katy Manning to the ground.
RIP Caroline, Liz will always be a favourite of mine.
It's always understated how much Caroline assisted the transition to a new Doctor, to colour and to the new UNIT way of doing things. She came back for a cameo in The Five Doctors and served the programme well throughout the years attending conventions and meets.
Here's the first of many tribute videos I've found. I'm sure there are many more to come.

She always kept a low profile. Not often seen on the signing circuit. How typical that her death is announced the day after her funeral.
I sent her a couple of fan letters over the years, and always had a long, handwritten letter in reply. Never met her though.

Was looking forward to seeing her at the Regenerations con in September. One more empty chair from the UNIT panel now:(
She dies 5th June apparently, RIP.
R.I.P.

Yes, very under rated. A very modern companion for 1970. I was hoping we'd get to see her on UNIT's moonbase. terribly sad.
One of the nicest people a Doctor Who fan could ever have hoped to meet.

Rest in Peace Caroline.
Agree 100%. She was the best.

The new season of the Companion Chronicles which starts next month will feature what is presumably her last work as Liz Shaw.
RIP Caroline.
