Wow that was an even shorter resignation than planned.

Some good jokes on Twitter.

Ha! Good for him. Like him or loathe him he is the face of UKIP.

In terms of their prospects at future elections in the short-term I'd certainly guess that they'd do better with him than without him.

Actually, I think the lyrics are quite appropriate.

In a sea of bland, faceless politicians, and Nige does give a good interview, but then I'm still ever so slightly disappointed The a Pub Landlord lost Thanet!

I'm very pleased because that means I've just won a bet. £200! :D

I knew this would happen. When he lost his seat, he had to announce he was resigning to save his face - or rather, to show he was 'a man of my word' - but it didn't mean he would stay resigned permanently.

Someone said one can't 'un-resign'. I insisted for the likes of Farage, it was definitely possible as he had pulled weasel-like stunts in the past. That's when we made a bet. :D

Mind you, I didn't expect it to happen so soon. Only three days. I thought the resignation would last maybe a week.

As UKIP has apparently refused to accept his resignation, I wonder if Labour could refuse to accept that Dan Jarvis won't run for the leadership.

    One can but hope.
