Some brilliant anamorphic art

Just thought I'd share this as it's quite stunning and so clever. For any who have no idea what anamorphic art is, it's essentially an illusion using paintings at different angles (a perspective illusion) which change definition as you view it from different angles, these examples are blended into buildings and look real.

Those are fab. I've seen a similar thing with type along a corridor, but never with images before. The town square one is excellent.

We had something similar at the university. A piece by Shigeo Fukuda. I didn't like it because it freaked me out every time. I'll try to find an image online.

    Edited:
I haven't had the luck to find it. The nearest I can find is this: http://1000ya.isis.ne.jp/file_path/s1253-17-g19.jpg

I agree, I do like the staircase ones though.

lol, maybe. Might be a bit pricey though!

I'd love to have someone decorate my house like that, although it would probably mess with my head real fast.

I think rulers or whatever would have been used to get the ones like the first one perfect.

Not an art lover so only found out about the Holbein painting last year.

That must have been quite impressive back in the day

Thanks for sharing. That's pretty impressive stuff. I wonder if the displays are permanent?
