I get the feeling that that article is a bit biased. It recommends using Kingsoft Office but if you want Linux support to run Soft maker Freeoffice as well - without pointing out that LibreOfice works on both Windows and Linux and is the obvious choice for cross platform deployment.
kingsoft is on linux as well, I got it running on my miint Distro.
i can not find how to change the UI on the linux version as at the moment it got the stupid ribbon ui.

Thanks for that, not possible to change when it is being installed. I did not see the UI change icon before, thanks for pointing it out. TBH, i am not sure if it was there, I just updated to a Alpha version and it is there.
