Crotches

I must say I was appalled by Sophie's mid air crotch thrust.

If that was meant to attract the male vote I would be surprised. In these days of the internet (or even satellite TV) there are plenty of more appropriate sites for amateur Gynecologists.

Some females pros also did similar crotch views - Iveta and Kristina spring to mind.

Not for me I'm afraid.

Well, there were a lot of them exposed last night.

But in Abbey's 4 X 10s salsa, that red dress covered her modesty, when she was above Aljaz's head with her legs spread.

I'm also of an opinion, that some of the knickers worn, were more "cheeky" than in previous series.

    Oh! Well!
    That's "progress" for you.

I didn't know it was possible to have a "mid air" crotch thrust. Was Brenda attempting re-entry? That's NASA's job.

Must admit I'm sick of the sight of gyrating gussets myself.

I suspect that was to accompany a Latin dance. So in English that would be "HeHeHeHeHeHe ..."

I also thought Nartem's Pole Dance segment was weird.

Isn't the BBC aware of the hundreds of porn sites where one can get the real thing if so inclined?

    So tacky.

Most of the dance was good. And I liked Artem's clothes except for the gold shoes.

So it was a lamppost not a pole dance as per Singing in the Rain?

It was the kind of pole used for pole dancing, but the moves were musical theatre.

Actual pole dancing is very gymnastic, hold on...

Better than a selfie, a YouTube clip! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YmjYAMF64cI

(Be warned, there are gussets on show, but no more so than usual)

This kind of competitive pole dancing is kinda like the exhibition show dance from the semi, only solo, rather than partnered. The strength and control on display is phenomenal.

I must say that a full brief is more flattering. I was quite surprised at how narrow this year's gussets have been.

I understand the BBC has to cut the fat (as do we all) but reducing gussets to thongs simply isn't on!

Yes, mossy. You'll be wanting the Brazilian!

Er, the SCD from South America where they dance virtually naked. It's porn! Maybe it's not ACTUALLY the Brazil version but..... ;o)

I will have to check that out on a YouTube search, just for research purposes of course. ;)

Not tacky at all, just the way your mind works, you seem very familiar with the "hundreds of porn sites!":(

Now I love looking at women; and whoever invented them should be declared God. But this sort of dance is not for me however skilled it is.

However the dancer in that clip clearly has an excellent musical taste. She chose one of my favourite arie for that dance.

Donizetti - "Il dolce suono mi colpì di sua voce" from Lucia di Lammermoor

The soprano is Natalie Dessay to get back to SCD's Natalie's dance.

What do you associate pole dances with? I have only associated them with strip clubs. But Betty shows that pole dancing has moved out of strip clubs and education is the point of fora like this.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pole_dance
Pole dance is a form of performance art, historically associated with strip clubs, which combines dance and acrobatics centered around a vertical pole. This art form has recently gained popularity as a form of fitness and mainstream entertainment, practised by many enthusiasts in gyms and in dedicated dance studios. A wide range of amateur and professional competitions are held in many countries around the world.

But I have never seen one live - not that I object to others doing so in any context.

A scan through Alexa's Top 100/500/1000 sites lists tells you all about the world's most popular websites. Nothing so secret. That's the way the world is as any 14 year old boy will tell you.

rather like the exhibition show dances that strictly have on, these are jaw dropping dance sport / acrobatic performances, but that seems to me to be a different genre to pure dance (of any sort)

Quite. Very skilled and I am sure many enjoy the spectacle in addition to all appreciating the skills demonstrated. But different to the sort of dances that appeal to me.

Sort of like the Flavia / Louis showdance last year - and I'm a Goddess Flavia Fan.
