Hi
I am buying a new laptop with Win8 and I have an old XP Laptop. My old one has Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio on it and I dont have the orig discs or licence key. How can I transfer it to my new one as well as any other programs I mat wish to carry over? A free utility would be useful.

What do you need to do with SQL? Many of the tools are free in SQL Express.
Ah right, just cos It was on my old machine. So does SQL Express do exactly what SSMS does?
No, it's not exactly the same. But as I said, what do you use it for?

Click on the download button and then just tick the box for the flavour of SQL management studio that you want x64 or x86.
Even though it's the Express version you can use it to manage any type of SQL server instance, including Azure.
Hope that helps.
For future reference, no.
