How do I watch 5 episodes of come dine with me?

  It sounds like others find it not very intuitive but it's also reported to play the series through if you let it play to the end of reach episode

  In the settings under "PVR Settings" there is a "Series Play" option. If this is set to ON when you come to the end of a recording it will start the next one in the series automatically.
  
  If you stop the playback manually it won't, and you'll have to manually select again.
