Philip Glenister and Eddie Izzard can only be a good thing... mind you, I thought Mad Dogs was sure to be great reuniting Philip and John Simm but it wasn't :(

With a cast like that I'm going to be glued to it.
It's got to be the best thing on tv all year.
    He said, hopefully.

I didnt mind Mad Dogs, it was crazy and very silly but as it was only a short series, what was that trash Glenister was in on ITV

The trailers certainly look good. Great cast.

So far, I have enjoyed the Sky UK drama productions. They always seem to have that big budget feel to them.

Season two is coming in January and season three has already been commissioned.

They're also working on Mad Cats, a female version.

Along with Neverland http://movies.sky.com/neverland Sky certainly have a couple of big budget blockbusters for Christmas.

Hope they are as good as they look.

Interesting though that Neverland goes to Sky Movies, but Treasure Island to Sky One.

    Why is that?

Treasure Island looks just as big a production.

    a rights issue?

Also, given Sky's infatuation with it I am surprised that at least one of these wasn't made in 3D.

Looks good. Starts in January though. :(

Would have thought they would screen it at Christmas.

Good question. When is it on?

I assumed it was Christmas. Is it New Year?

You say "starts in January", but it is a one off "film" is it not? It isn't a series. (is it?)

Ah my mistake, I think I just assumed it was going to be a two or three parter. I don't honestly know! :o

On this page, it just says "Treasure Island will air January 2012."

EDIT It says it's a two part drama on the OP's Sky link on the main picture.

I notice on the Sky Cinema preview it says
exclusive screening of the first episode at six cinemas around the country on the 15 December, weeks before it airs on TV.

Oh well - another to wait for until my brother's seen it and buys the DVDs... I'll borrow them from him in 2013-2014...

Unless Sky decide to run it on Pick in 12 months time..

Anyone watch this? We missed it! How many more episodes will there be? I had thought it was a long series not a few parts?

Two parter - Jan1 and Jan2, two hours each.

I watched the first part tonight and thought it was absolutely excellent. Took a while to get going, but it's beautifully filmed and the casting is outstanding. Every time I see Eddie Izzard I'm more and more impressed with him as an actor, (He was brilliant in Lost Christmas a couple of weeks ago). And he does stand-up in French. In France.

It must be repeated during the week, so try and find out when the first part is being re-shown. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Although its being repeated many times on Sky1 and Sky2 there is one day its back to back

    Sky2 - 18.00 to 22.00 8th of January

Shame there is only two episodes.

I was really looking forward to this, and wasn't disappointed - I thought it was brilliant; I was glued from start to finish last night, I thought the cast was excellent, especially Eddie Izzard, who I'm not usually a great fan of, and I'm looking forward to tonight's episode.
