She doesn't need to come back, the character has been round the mill as has Chas and Debbeh all three have reached their maximum capacity and should be killed off or all three can open a bar in Ibiza together and never to return again, they can take Marlon with them and Rachel.
I think she will be back to wrap up things and film her exit .
There's nothing to wrap up for her to comeback for. She's seen Chas and the only ones left with anykind of connections to are Andy and Diane. At least her exit made a bit sense which is more than coming back and going again would do.
She's not on social media and hasn't given an interview since she left, so where did you get that from?
She gave a interview to the TV Magazine for the Sun, and they quoted her saying that she's taken the break to spend time with her daughter and that they need to plan there breaks far a head because everyone wants them.

"It'll be lovely to spend more time with my daughter Mia and do some travelling.
"I quite fancy seeing San Francisco-and California in general. There's not much chance to see the world when you're working to a soap schedule!"

I merely asked where you got the news from because she hasn't given an interview since she was last on screen.
It's been discussed before, but that Sun interview was one of a few she gave before she left and in one of them Sammy added there is no talk of Katie returning.
I 'googled' and the only recent news since she left is Sammy was at a charity party with Kelvin and Charley a few weeks ago, but nothing about her returning to work.

If she ever does return they'll do the predictable and have her in the sack with one of the Barton guys within a month.
