I've just watched the Bowiethon, Im soo frustrated, causd it stopped short of Diamond Dogs... Arggh!
It never really gets the kudos it deserves! Its not ike its willfully obscure either!?! Its actually (imo) a really accessible album musically.
Then again Roxy-wise, I love Country Life to death (followed closely by Stranded) amd no reviewer/biographer has gone into that album in gr8 detail as opposed to Their first album or FYP. So frustrating!

I love all Roxy's first five albums to death equally. The reviewers just prefer the first two because Eno's on them & they think that's cooler, despite Ferry having sole writing credit on both albums. Eno didn't write a note.
Diamond Dogs is the only Bowie album where I like all the tracks. He could be very hit & miss.
Rock N' Roll Suicide
Absolute Beginners
Up The Hill Backwards
Queen Bitch
The Prettiest Star
John I'm Only Dancing
Hang Onto Yourself
Rebel Rebel
Watch That Man
Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)

D.dogs ,Station To Station & Hunky Dory are the ones that I like all tracks. The Berlin trilogy, I kind of like about half of each album, & if Im truly honest, same with the Ziggy stuff. But the material that I do like kind of makes up for it.
Did you like those jazz instrumental reworks by Mr Ferry of the old material? I thought they were genius.

No, I don't. I think it's self indulgent bollox. Why do that when the originals are perfect? I know he suffers from writer's block but I'm actually quite cross with him. Especially as Olympia was the best thing he's done since Bete Noir, over 20 years ago.

Shame! I really liked the way the different instruments bring out the song structures and the way it pulls the tracks to around the 3 minute mark. Nevermind, loved Olympia too.
A friend took me to a Glen Miller style big band concert afew years back, and it was a revelation. Sonically hearing all that brass with a little percussion,it reminded me of that experience.
Life on Mars, Under Pressure, Space Oddity, Heroes, Boys Keep Swinging, Ashes to Ashes, This Is Not America, in fact all of them, barring Young Americans, up until 1986.
