There would be some significant percentage of parents who would object to that. Note that I am not saying it is right or that they should, just that it is a stone cold fact that they will.
I think there's a lot of parents out there who are mildly homophobic. I think only a small percentage of people out there are perfectly fine with people who are gay. I think a load of parents have a vision of their children one day walking down the aisle with their girlfriend/boyfriend to get married.
I learned today on Radio One, of all places, while driving home, that you can get counselling for homosexuality. I never realised this, seems like a sound idea, they should put it on the NHS, just cure them all, sorted!
Even if they did try to stamp out thought crimes in primary school I don't think it would make a difference as an individual person will change in attitude and opinion as they get older.
This is more or less it. It's like when they force kids in secondary schools to learn religion which, to me, always seemed absurd. You won't prevent homophobia or racism just by keeping people informed. Being informed comes with the ability to form an authoritative opinion on that subject which can still be twisted and unpleasant - and worse, they can legitimise their claims because of this knowledge even when it's absolute bull shine.
It will as after 100 years there would be no one left alive pretty much so job done as when the last person dies there will be no homophobic person left

You do know that gay people can, and do, have kids, right?
What lesson shall we cancel to fit in this particular topic?
Gay Awareness, Racial Awareness, Disability awareness, Religious diversity awareness etc everyone wants their particular problem to be addressed by schools and half a day for each particular awareness topic a week seems fine...might get a couple of hours every month to teach them to read and write
And all that does is make people angrier against said particular "minority"
People don't like to be told what to tolerate and what to accept, you'd think they'd understand that by now.

but surely fathering children the natural way would make them not 100% gay but then theres turkey basters for those who cannot bare to pop the sausage in to a lady
At the end of the day everyone shares different opinions. Some people don't like gay people for many reasons just like some people don't like black people. It's not nice but it's all a matter of opinion.
Well that wouldn't work as there are far too many homophobic adults with children. Though I have never really liked the word 'homophobic', why should stupid ignorant people be given there own 'phobia'.
The answer was a few posts above yours... a perfect word to use instead.
So which one of you will be going to the Muslim schools and telling them to put this into the education curriculum? What a challenge for liberals this would be.
Telling Muslims to accept homosexuality while also not trying to come across as Islamophobic.
Because it's a thing in the world that they will encounter at some point?
Children should be protected from any form of sexualisation, there is no way on Earth I would start describing sex acts to a ten year old. Once they reach puberty they should be warned of the dangers of casual sexual activity of all kinds, straight or gay. Unwanted pregnancies that totally ruin their prospects and STDs.

Are you sure?
I know a gay bloke who doesn't like lesbians.

Don't they?
How do you explain religion?
I was actually once told by a lesbian that gay men and lesbian women don't like each other. I couldn't believe it.
Next thread - 'The only way to end procrastination'
I'm just reporting so don't shoot the messenger.
The gay bloke's view was that gay men are inclusive. But lesbian women are cliquey and exclusive.
I don't know.
What me?
Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow at the very soonest?
**** me, I could put a lot of effort in, and some natural disaster could wipe it all out.
Don't you know the song?
I'll start the thread in a bit or maybe next week or the week after that
