Not sure why Pietersen would be complaining about Middlesex fixtures. He doesn't play for them and never did.

Pietersen was complaing about Surrey playing too much cricket and that is why Dunn and the pace bowlers were losing pace and not bowling quick all the time.

Morgan then repeated this in the press conference before the ODI by saying Middlesex play too much by saying middlesex only had 2 days off in a 2 week window playing 4 T20 games and 2 county championship games in that period.

Basically all counties play too much cricket.

However during one of the tests, it was Mentioned about Ponting, and also at the end of the ashes promo, it advertised Sky Sports Ashes.

Cricket coverage gave us breaking news before the news channel

Must be a slow news day today. So they are padding up the bulletins with the Ricky Ponting announcement, his stats and the Sky Sports Ashes channel:p

one thing that did get me yesterday was when england got 4 down, think it was David Gower, who kept on about ooh they will have to reign it in now, I wsd thinking, youre so old school

Nick Knight actually as part of his 'ODI Spcialist' duty asked Holding & Gower who were on the comms at that time what they think the batsmen should do? And I was thinking - FFS you are supposed to be the ODI expert, you tell us your opinion, Gower said - oh they should slow down for 5 overs!!

Just realised there could be worse than Nick Knight, you could have Darren Gough, who has just said on Radio Stuart Broad is a good ODI Player.

In my eyes Anderson & Broad, would still be worried about saving runs etc, and having fields to suit them.

Bumble said about RP weeks/months ago on twitter! Was hardly a state secret. From what i saw of him on the big bash he's a step up from warne but it seems they are keeping Warne too!

    Yes seems one to many

But I guess the rest could take a test off each, as the workload next winter is going to be hard

Ponting is just taking Ian Smith's place. With Andrew Strauss not having been replaced I think they have the right number. Strauss was one too many but Athers, Mikey, Nass, Lord Gower, Bumble, Sir Ian, Warne and Punter is a more than ok rotation. Punter was pretty good on the Big Bash.

Glad Sky are showing Glamorgan v Somerset next Saturday, be great seeing Chris Gayle, in his final game, before he goes and plays in the CPL or whatever they call it

    I'm afraid you won't now.......

Ponting is great, looking forward to (although unlikely to happen) the ponting, Nasser & Warne stints.

It's in the ICC deal so I would think so, although given they will be during the day and with the Ashes on it might be behind the red button.

To cap off the IPL figures.
The final drew an audience of 84k (up against the Sunday of the lords test 350k) (and the last day of the premier league 1.4 million)
Last years final on itv4 rated 530k , wasn't up against anything major though.

Could be, but attempting to cover ones tracks by the ECB is entirely possible. One abnormality often leads to more of the same.

They are, or some of them are at least. They're scheduled on Sky Sports 3.

But don't all the commentators criticise the team and management when they lose or make bad decisions. Maybe that's why Bob Willis isn't in the com box any more ;)

My main issue with this is why they would want KP in the first place - when he joined the Comms on The Big Bash he was terrible, laughing at everything he said. Freddie was pretty good but KP was just woeful.

Do we really think Bumble, Mikey, Gower, Nass, Athers, Beefy, Warne and Punter would be improved by adding KP? I know I sure as hell don't.

Not sky. However the CPL is on BT, I've watched 3 minutes and I want to throttle Danny Morrison.

I don't KNOW what you MEAN. There's NOTHING irritating about him AT ALL, and certainly NOT the way he raises his VOICE for CERTAIN WORDS...

I could see him working as a pundit on The Verdict. I'm not a fan of the guy myself, but from bits I've seen, his studio work has been alright.

He made a few appearances on TMS during the World Cup, and was surprisingly good, very perceptive (when they could get him off the subject of himself...)

My fist impression of KP on TMS was 'manic' and too much in your face, even more so than Boycs when his health was worse. However KP settled down and ended up OK to listen to.

Somebody really needs to go in to sort out the County Cricket Five Live extra stuff.
It sort of has a Radio 2 feel to it but even a Tony Blackburn would give it more bite !

Link man Trevor Howells lunchtime interviews are the positive there.
