Save yourself some money! Don't buy an app, use the volume control or off switch!
It means having to find one of around half a dozen remotes every 10 minutes. Super annoying for a lazy bugger like me ................. >:(

This all started because 'tahiti' seems to think older people should not be able to vote.

Everyone contributes or has contributed in some way. There are plenty of much older people working and still paying income tax and contributing to the economy. The whole argument is ridiculous. No one age group contributes more than another.

You and tahiti are both talking that this is the only generation that has been screwed over ....

I've found this debate quite extraordinary. The dictate seems to be that, a certain genre isn't fiscally 'fit' to qualify in having a vote in the referendum.
How ridiculously discriminatory but then so was Hitler...oh the irony.

Hard left political views effectively transpose to those on the far right. Best to ignore the hardliners is what I say. Stay healthy!! :D

Will Brian speak in his Mockney affectation if he is forced to talk to a tradesman or someone from the lower orders?

    :D:D:D

I do love your posts, Mike!

I don't think James O'Brien is "a bad example" of the phone-in genre at all. I think that when a person calls O'Brien's show they need to prepare themselves for the fact that he might be a bit abrupt with them but he is usually only like this when the caller is talking rubbish. O'Brien is a master of arguing and some callers just can't cope with the way he runs his show. You have to make your point quickly and, if you don't agree with James, be prepared to have your opinion picked apart, so callers with opinions contrary to James' should be very sure of themselves before calling in.

James O'Brien's show is different and certainly not the friendliest on the station but once you listen to him for a while you get the measure of the man and as callers and listeners we just have to accept that that's the way he does things. As long as it makes a good show (which it usually does) then I have no issue with it.

I agree with your overview of J O'B's show, i.e. anyone who wants to call should be well prepared beforehand. The only slight teensy-weensy hang-up I have is, an articulate caller, no fool, who disagrees with him is cut-off in their prime. This suggests he's not confident in his arguments?

Hence my post #9595. I didn't hear it myself but apparently he's actually a well known radio phone in host himself and he got cut off.

He was horribly snide today. Someone called in over the curry/racist topic and put a perfectly valid point to JOB which highlighted his twisted view of racism (which boiled dow is that only white people are racists). The caller said "I think...... Blah blah" and gobshite said "do you?"
    Caller "what?"
    JOB "think"
    caller cut off.

He is a nasty piece of work and a coward.

And what really makes me laugh are the slavish followers who are dazzled by his intellect and try to be friends with him.

He likes to subscribe to racism to fool his slavish followers. He lacks conviction to those who otherwise like to oppose him... they are given short change. An insecure numpty? I'll allow for his difficulties. :kitty:

..along with the non stop Twitter feed referencing(especially if an apparently well known person tweets) , King Gob's ego gets stroked so hard its virtual radio porno . He really is quite bizarre .

I don't know who Kate Smurfitt is (a comedienne apparently) but La Hopkins is running rings round her on Olly Mann's show tonight.

Look at me I said "comedienne".

I made it gender specific! Smack my legs!

Apparently he had a 'Nick' from Brentwood phone in a couple of days ago.

I have a friend Nick from Brentwood .Wonder if it was him?
I'll have to have a word if he's going to talk to the enemy.

Now the mass hysteria has calmed down about Iain Dale's publication of 'Calll me Dave', he has written a blog about this from his side..

What is even more interesting than the blog are the comments at the end. Two pages of them and as far as I could see only one positive comment. There's a lot of well-deserved anger directed at him. He can't be a happy bunny at the moment.
Couldn't happen to a nicer man.

There may have been a Nick from Brentwood who called in, but if you folks are making reference to the call made to Brian by The Award-Winning Nick Margerrison it was from the Talk2Me Radio studio complex which is in BrentFORD.

So who has paid for the 18 years olds birth, education and welfare until he/she reaches the work pool?

Without me, there is no you.

    Without you, I'm fine.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

I've googled but failed to find this award Nick Margerrison had bestowed on him. Could you elaborate?
