Syrian boy died because his father wanted new teeth.

In a way, the tragic story of the little boy washed up on the shore is a metaphor for this whole sorry episode.

His avoidable death was the direct result of his father's desire for the "better life" in Europe at any cost. Not happy with his job in Turkey, he decides to make a new life for himself and family (and thus becomes an economic migrant, not a refugee fleeing a war-torn country). He handed 5000 euros (probably enough for 1st class plane tickets to anywhere in Europe, were he allowed to travel*within the law) under cover of darkness to transport his family without lifejackets, knowing full well they couldn't swim.

Why? Because he wanted dental treatment in Europe:

This child was three years old. He had been living with his family in*Turkey*for 3 years. Rather than go through the proper channels, or indeed continue a process (appeals or otherwise) of attempting settlement with his sister in Canada, his father decided to take a risk and break international law.

It is the rampant media, engorged on the body counts, the human tragedy, the drama, that are deliberately misleading the public (go compare the BBC footage of the family on the train tracks to the full footage). Obfuscating, hushing up, avoiding. To paint a narrative that has got the liberals so worked up, Europe is now flinging it's doors open to limitless migration. Utter lunacy.

Thankfully the UK Government are aware that there are many illegal migrants in Europe which is why we will welcome 100% processed and registered refugees from the UN camps. Perhaps if the EU had played this same tune as the UK, the migrants might not be so forthcoming in the massive numbers.

At Crystallad. See you missed the bit where she says to go to Europe ' for his kids and better future'
There is something really sick about spinning this tragedy to satisfy your own prejudices.

What point are you making, that it's right and ok to illegally travel across Europe?
The father has blood on his hands.

    Why he needed new teeth:

The ultimate injustice one can commit to Aylan Kurdi and his family is to omit the parts of his story which explain why he ended up dead on the beach. The details matter, so please read and share:
    1) Abdullah Kurdi, the father, was detained for 5 months in Air Force Intelligence in Damascus. While in detention, he was tortured and his teeth were pulled out. He had to sell his shop in Damascus in order to bribe the officers to let him out. This cost him 5,000,000 Syrian Liras (around $25,000)
    2) After he bribed his way out of jail, Abdullah fled to Aleppo with his wife and sons, Aylan and Ghalib. The situation in Aleppo became dangerous due to the constant aerial bombardment, so he fled again to Kobani, his hometown.
    3) When ISIS attacked Kobani last year, the family could no longer live in their hometown, so they fled to Turkey. Once in Turkey, the Turkish government did not provide them with assistance, so they paid almost $6,000 to secure 4 spots on a rubber dingy to the Greek island of Kos.
    4) While on the boat, rough waters caused the boat to flip. The lifejackets they were given were fake. His sons and wife all drowned in front of his eyes, in his arms.
    5) Abdullah Kurdi and his brother wanted to seek refuge in Canada, where their sister lives. However his brother's application was rejected, so then the families decided to pay a smuggler to take them to Greece by boat. After Aylan's photo became a media story, he was reportedly offered citizenship to Canada. But now he doesn't want to go to Canada or Europe anymore. He says he will go bury his family in Kobani and stay there to fight against ISIS, because everything has been taken away from him and he has "nothing to live for."
So if the world wants to see no more Aylans on the beach, someone needs to do some combination of the following based on above: (1) stop torture and arbitrary detention by the Assad regime, (2) stop the regime's aerial bombardment, (3) stop ISIS, (4) make traveling to Europe safe, (5) get Canada and the USA to accept more refugees.
    Got it?

    Shame on you!>:(

For a start they are having to house 1.7 million refugees without the infrastructure. Yet I bet you would freak at the idea of us, a far richer country, talking a relatively small number.

Job, teeth. I see how your brain works. There are no shades of grey or understanding of emotions such as empathy or PTS.

Digital Spy politics in all its glory here, isn't it. Crystallad seems to be the Daily Mail in posting form. 'You want me to look at the actual story? Won't the headlines do?'.

He was a refugee trying to get to Canada where he had family. So sad that you are trying to justify your own agenda by spinning his circumstances.

I praise your generosity but you need to understand that border control does not work on empathy. If you think he is aloud then what message does that send out to over 1 billion people.

I hate to tell they do not all want to come and camp in your back garden. Most do not even want to come to the UK. Mainly because of people like you, I guess

Still does not make it right for people who have jobs to illegally travel to Europe and pretend to be a refugee
