    17:00 - The Chase: 3.43m (20.8%)

    19:30 - Coronation Street: 9.22m (39.7%)

Does it include +1? Corrie would be a lot closer to 10m if it was included.

More like Great Night Ouch. EastEnders under 8m last for the first time in weeks. What happened there? Corrie still huge with 9.22m & 8.86m excluding +1.

    :)

Suspect it will be Late Night Ouch before long....

    A 10.35 slot beckons.

Great ratings for Celeb Big brother, top rated commercial program at 9oclock yesterday.

Terrible rating for Great night out, it is dead. Almost a million viewers have tuned off in 2 weeks, it seems like the general public dislike it a lot. Another flop from Itv's scripted department.

Oucharama. I pity them for being under the illusion that Paddy McGuinness is funny and giving him his own show in a comedy lineup.

Going from Adam Hills to Paddy McGuinness is like switching supermarkets from Waitrose to Lidl.

Healthy shares there. Not often you get a peak of 2m on a normal Friday at lunchtime.

The Tennis dented ITV's morning line-up heavily:

    ITV
    06:00 - Daybreak: 664k (15.7%)
    08:30 - Lorraine: 975k (15.4%)
    09:25 - The Jeremy Kyle Show: 1.26m (19.3%)
    10:30 - This Morning: 955k (14.5%)
    11:25 - ITV News: 1.03m (15.1%)
    11:30 - This Morning: 1.04m (14.9%)
    12:30 - Loose Women: 1.03m (13.0%)
    13:30 - ITV News: 1.01m (12.3%)

And I would attribute the drop in The Chase to Alan Titchmarsh, who only had 1.06m (11.7%) at 15:00.

Alan Titchmarsh didn't precede The Chase though.

The programme averaged a 22% share amongst 16-34 year old viewers, over twice as many as any other channel across its timeslot.

Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side followed the main show with 1.39m (11.4%). It was at least twice as popular as the nearest commercial TV competition.

Channel 5 will be very pleased with that figure. Celeb Big Brother has done very well for them.

Shows the strength of 'default' BBC One viewing.

I'm no fan of C4 but that is not the case. Some good analysis below.

Although C4 has had their fair share of bad rated programmes in the first few weeks of this year (as you've mentioned), it's worth noting that according to year-to-date overnight rating shares, Channel 4 has done quite well early on in 2013:

In terms of All Day Shares, individuals has fallen -2.1% from 6.51% in the first 22 days of 2012 to 6.37% for the first 22 days of this year. But key demos such as 16-34s is up +3.3% (8.62% to 8.90%) as well as ABC1 Adults being up +7.3% (6.29% to 6.75%).

Primetime performance has been more impressive for C4: individuals is up +4.2% y-o-y (6.64% to 6.92%), 16-34s is up +4.6% (9.49% to 9.93%) and ABC1 Adults is up an even better +11.0% (6.91% to 7.67%).

C4 is up the most in peak time out of all the terrestrial channels. As ad space on the channel is mostly sold based on 16-34s and ABC1 Adults, they've done even better among those audiences year-on-year. Channel 5 though is the only terrestrial channel up year-on-year among individuals in both all day share (+1.3%) and primetime (+3.0%). Note: BARB consolidated shares will be different and comparisons different once recordings are taken into account.
    C14E wrote: »
No advertiser buys "total viewers" so the fact that C4 is down overall in that measure is of very little concern at all. To talk about business sense and then dismiss 16-34/ABC1 ratings makes no sense at all. Those are the ratings that allow C4 to punch well above their weight when it comes to programming budgets.

Yes, C4 are having some difficulties in daytime. But they're also attracting the right audiences at the right times. I think this thread as a whole is too quick to start a panic if one thing is going wrong. The nature of broadcasting most of the day 365 days a year is that some things will be up, some will be down. Some slots will do well, some will need attention.

The stats clearly show C4 has started the year well. Even the 2.1% all day total audience share decline isn't particularly significant. And all other measures seem to be pointing up, some quite impressively.

Well, which other digital channel can get a couple of programmes over a million?
