One of the troubles with the running water method (which I'm not sure you are really supposed to do), is that you lose an awful lot of the taste of the prawns.
I put them in a sieve before leaving for work. When I get back the iced water has gone and the prawns keep their taste.
In a rush I run them under the cold tap.

Thanks for that. I looked on the back of the packet after eating and it said to defrost min 8 hours in the fridge.
It cooks so quickly which is why is I've never bothered. I'm not dead - yet.:D
I hope I can say the same thing in the morning LOL
Oh you'll be fine!:D
I cook raw prawns from frozen.
Thanks David, I feel fully reassured now.......Yes they were cooked ones
Is several changes of water ok? I'm getting worried again LOL
So do I, it was actually ages before I even realised it said you had to defrost them on the back of the packet.
I've never read the back of the packets, I figured if I know how to cook them, how long to cook them then why do I need instructions.
I think when you've been cooking for years, you can judge the dos and don'ts in the kitchen.
In a rush I run them under the cold tap.
