1. Because you are criticising owners on this thread, despite none of them indicating selfishness, and without having personal experience with any of them.
You and some others have shown unbelievable selfishness.
2. You use terms like "most" but provide no data or empirical evidence to back it up.
Please give some examples. I have provided you with several where I said no such thing. I can't remember stating most cat owners act in as bad a manner as yourself so perhaps you can jog my memory?
4. No owners with outdoor cats have full control and no owners are liable under law so, by extension, your views on your neighbours apply to all owners in the same situation.
Not at all. My views on my neighbours are based on their refusal to accept others may not like their pets entering their houses. Thankfully, as has been displayed by others on this thread, not all cat owners are so arrogant.
Two of my previous neighbours fell out over their car being scratched by the others cat. That cat had a fetish for cars I am sure. Any opening in a car and it would be in there. The amount of times it got locked in car.
I think the essential difference between cat owners and dog owners is, that cat owners assume everyone should love their cat, no matter how badly it behaves. Similarly dog owners will often ask visitors whether they mind dogs, before they let them into a room with the visitors. In my experience cat owners never do this.
Now you might think I am not a cat owner, but I am. We have a gorgeous british shorthair, BUT unlike other cat owners I have managed to train him. Because contrary to what people have you believe, cats are trainable !
He poops in his outdoor litter tray, and he doesn't walk all over furniture/work surfaces in the house. He of course occasionaly has a touch of the naughties about him, but when he gets caught he knows he has done wrong immediately.
We also always ask people whether they mind cats, before we let him into a room with visitors.
So IMO, let's not malign the poor old cat but get cat owners to take more responsibility for them.

Because you said humans made the choice. I am human and I didn't get a choice.
I have never read anything so idiotic. Presumably you would always answer thus?
Humans discovered fire, "I never discovered fire"
Humans used to live in caves "I never lived in caves"
Humans fought at the battle of Hastings "I never fought at the Battle of Hastings"
You see?
You and some others have shown unbelievable selfishness.
Example please? Because I have already stated how I spoke to my neighbour, as just one example of how I am most certainly NOT selfish.
Please give some examples. I have provided you with several where I said no such thing. I can't remember stating most cat owners act in as bad a manner as yourself so perhaps you can jog my memory?
Firstly, you haven't given me an example of HOW I act selfishly as a cat owner.
Yes I have. And unfortunately they display the same attitude as most of the selfish idiots on here.
I'd have thought the reason for that would be obvious. Their cats don't annoy me so I don't have any experience with them.
My cat doesn't annoy you, but that hasn't stopped you including me in your list of "selfish cat owners" and spouting unfounded nonsense.
Not at all. My views on my neighbours are based on their refusal to accept others may not like their pets entering their houses. Thankfully, as has been displayed by others on this thread, not all cat owners are so arrogant.
You still haven't pointed out which owners here think that way. Until you do, your rants and insults are baseless.
Take my responses to all of your nonsense above and it's clear you still owe me an apology.
I don't owe you anything. You call me selfish and irresponsible but have yet to explain why.
Please explain why I am selfish and irresponsible.

Cats claws do scratch cars they love to lay on the car in the sunshine, sometimes they slip and try to dig their claws in .
My bro - in -law has 5 cats and none of his like to lay on the cars but his neighbour's cat loves the car and has scratched his and my sisters cars
How on Earth did it get into a locked car?
I wasn't stirring up trouble (as if this thread needs it ) I have just genuinely never heard of cats scratching cars before!!

*applauds*
It would sneak in and then the owner would lock the car remotely. It happened to my sister twice.

Therefore, thread closed.
