Interesting selection of former X Factor stars - all very memorable ones. And it's nice to know that the boys haven't been totally forgotten by the X Factor/Syco.

So, 1d's new album is out Nov 17th... I wonder if the twins shouldn't wait until early December to release theirs... allow the hype from 1d to die down a bit, but still in time for Christmas shopping.

They promissed that they sing their new songs on their october concerts. Would mean that all their fans there would listen to their new songs for first time and nobody could sing along. But maybe it is really a good idea to wait until december before releasing their 4th album.

Big acts like 1d suck all of the air out of the market when they release new material... I would rather the twins' new album have a fighting chance to chart than having the audience sing along during the concerts... but, keep in mind, I won't be at the concerts... so I can imagine why the fans that will be attending would prefer the album to be released earlier.

Timing is, unfortunately, a large part of whether albums/singles chart, as the twins found out when UP/IIB only made it to 2nd in the UK because Owl City moved-up their release date by one week. That week had been looking really good until the Owl City announcement.

It's really difficult for lesser known acts to chart high... so strategy is extra important.

Thanks for posting the links! :)

It was fantastic that CBBOTS played Free Spirit when J&E entered. Finally, after all these years, the twins actually have one of their songs played on one of the shows they're on.

    Woo-hoo!

    ok... this made me laugh...

twitter 1: Oh God, Jedward, at least they're irrelevant now, we can take comfort in that.
twitter 2: irrelevant until the next reality celeb show or Eurovision final
twitter 1: I like Eurovision *hangs head in shame* it's fun for ironic appreciation...
twitter 2: so is saying #yolo
twitter 1: Oh God, I almost forgot #yolo was a thing for a second there...
twitter 2: it's all fun and irony until you run the jedward fan club
    twitter 1: That's a thing? Where do I sign up? ;)

Thank goodness Blonde Electra is out. No offense to the girls, but I was tired of the unfair comparisons to J&E... the whole 'in drag' conversation made me angry.

I was afraid that the producers would contact J&E about another useless appearance on xtra factor. I know the show gave J&E a valuable platform, and I appreciate that... but I'm just tired of the same jokes year after year without any recognition whatsoever of all of the things J&E have done since.

I feel the same. Every time Blonde Electra made an appearance, the Jedward tag on twitter went mad, and not in a good way.

I didn't like the "Jedward in drag" conversation either but at least Louis didn't say anything bitchy about J&E. It seems like Simon is going to have a theme this season of making fun of Louis' gayness! Yeah OK Simon, whatever.

    It seems the twins intend entering Eurosong 2015 ;

    http://www.goss.ie/2014/10/jedward-vow-to-represent-ireland-again-at-eurovision-and-begin-hunt-for-winning-song/

It's a completely open selection this time with no mentors and any singer or songwriter can submit an entry.

Ok... now im interested! Call me a bad fan (i've been out of the loop for such a long time) but after nosing in here from time to time this is the first thing that has really grabbed my attention.

Could eurovision happen again? I really hope it does. Speaking as a mere outsider i think this could really showcase 'the new and improved jedward' in a positive way. My fingers are crossed!

The big question now is whether RTE would let them through to the Eurosong final. It could be a bit of a dilemma for them and would depend on what their attitude would be to Jedward competing for Ireland for a third time. In principle, I wouldn't be against it as long as they had a strong song.

I'm so impressed with ferocious... it's incredible that they wrote both the music and lyrics. It's so interesting that the casual observer thinks that the twins still have a huge machine behind them. J&E have come such a long way since xfactor. They are both so much more confident singing. Confidence puts the audience at ease.

    That's the good news.

The bad news (which can be easily remedied) is that they still need elocution lessons... or exercises, at least. I won't ask them to say 'Brautkleid bleibt Brautkleid und Blaukraut bleibt Blaukraut' :p , but here's some easy ones...

I like Ferocious (despite not being able to spell it without difficulty) but I think perhaps an additional verse and a bit less repetition might have been worth thinking about.

However, it's a feel good, lively and fist pumping dance tune.
